Was the best sushi till Soupy left. If anyone knows where he went, please post more

Get down Soupy! 11/17/2010

This is my favorite IE sushi place. They serve fresh med. size cuts of fish (i hate it when the pieces are really giant). Also Soupy know exactly how to make my hot sauce. Rooster sauce, chili powder, jalepenos and a dash of sesame oil. MMM i really don't like to go anywhere else. Also the specials rolls and dishes are really good so ask em' about those. If you are looking to be naughty try the 50/50 but don't drink and drive after :) Ps. Soupy is one of the Sushi chefs i like. more

LOVE the Geisha! 1/15/2010

Thomas Jefferson and I went here for Dinner this past weekend and ate at the Sushi Bar I had 2 Geisha's (excellent liqqa beverage) and he had something like I think a Mai Tai and Sake... All was good. We ordered a HUGE amount of Sushi and was very very satisfied had a dynamite roll, eel special roll, scallops, mushrooms and onion concoction that was extremely delicious. I had been to Toyko Kitchen in the past (as it is in my neighborhood) and could recall the excellent beverages :) and the Teppen kitchen that they are well known for but if you are looking for something light to eat... such as Sushi head over to Tokyo Kitchen in Montclair don't let the outside fool you. Respectfully Reviewed Pros: Tasty Beverages, Cool Sushi Bar, Excellent Sushi Cons: Wait can be long, small lobby area more

Great Chefs 10/30/2008

This place was very entertaining. The chefs had new tricks that I had never seen before and I have been to a lot of tepan places. The food was average and the cost was average. I would recommend. more

Tokyo Kitchen 10/11/2008

We have always enjoyed going here. But, it seems as if the cooks just go through the motions anymore. Not very entertaining. They used to be real fun. \r Last time we dinned at Tokyo I swear we were in and out in a half hour very rushed the waitress was trying to give us our bill when we were still eating. Don't know why the rush they were not busy. more

Love the rice and shrimp... 9/9/2008

I love Tokyo Kitchen but i believe that the quality of their food and service has gone down since the first time i visited which was about a few years ago. more

Love this Teppan Grill! 9/5/2008

We always go here for family birthdays, because they make a big deal, with a hat and everything and they take a picture. The grill chefs are always impressive, and the food has never disappointed me. The fried rice is great, but the tempura is by far the best I've tried anywhere! more

Awesome teppanyaki! 11/3/2006

Our family made this a Halloween tradition for years when I was growing up. I used to go next door to the Egghead Software afterwards and check out the latest Apple II games, to give you an idea how long Tokyo Kitchen's been around! I never tried the sushi as I didn't start eating it until after I moved away, but the service and food will always have a special place in my heart. The sesame salad dressing is the best I've ever had. Pros: awesome food more

Best Sushi in the 909 6/29/2006

We have tried many sushi bars in the IE but Tokyo Kitchen is by far the best. Fresh fish, creative dishes and awesome service. The sushi chefs are fun and are ""artists"" in their trade. This is not your typical loud over-the-top sushi bar. The sushi bar is small so there may be a wait but it's worth it. The teppan grill is also excellent and we usually sit there when we go with our non-sushi eating friends and still order from the sushi bar. Pros: Best sushi Cons: sometimes have to wait for a seat but worth the wait. more

Our favorite restaurant 12/12/2005

We love eating here this is where our kids like to go when they get good grades on their report cards Pros: fun, great food, best teppen house more

Sushi Bar Heaven 4/10/2005

Recently expanded to allow for a larger capacity, this is one of my favorite sushi bar locations ever. The sushi chefs there are amazing, always surprising you wish special treats that they create themselves. The restaurant itself is quite big, has a benihana style, but the sushi bar is relatively smaller, serving maybe fourteen to sixteen so go early. Do not forget to kampai with the chefs and ask for your very own sake box. Atmosphere and Service are incredible. more
