GREAT sushi, nice staff, & fun- nice surprise! 12/6/2008

I'd read about Tokyo in a City Mag while on a business trip to this area, and then stumbled into it after shopping at Dillard's at the mall across the street. There was a line of people waiting, and it was obviously a favored local place... The staff was So nice & I got seated quickly at the Sushi Bar. Was Very pleasantly surprised by a truly great ""sushi feast""- loved every single thing I was presented with! Butter-tender sushi, fresh as can be- so yummy! Casual atmosphere, with lots of happy families and groups of friends enjoying the fab fire-wielding chefs at the ""hibachi"" tables, as well as young Business People & couples having a (romantic) dinner after work... Will Def go back if I'm lucky enough to be in the area again! A great place to relax in for a great meal after a shopping trip! Pros: Great, fresh, buttery sushi, nice staff, casual, fun, across from mall! Cons: Can't think of anything! more

Do not make reservations! 4/4/2007

I was invited to a dinner party and everyone was going to the comedy club after. I was told we had reservations at 7:00 and I showed up at 7:15 we were seated soon after. The service and food were ok, just ok. The problems begain when we tried to leave and pay our individual tickets. Pros: Bartender was understanding and had more people skills than the manager. Cons: Chef got egg shell in our rice. Had to wait on drink refills. Manager was rude. more

The best sushi around...period 8/24/2006

I eat a lot of sushi. I've been to many different restaurants in many large cities across Texas and Tokyo has to be the best by far! The wide selection and great service they offer makes it a great place for anyone to eat, not just someone who loves sushi. The sushi always tastes very fresh and you can even sit at the bar and watch them prepare your order. For beginners, I would recommend the Obe Roll, but for a true sushi connoisseur, the Passion Roll is the only way to go. Be sure to arrive early, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings because they go on a wait pretty fast, but they do have a bar where you can sit and have some good Sake so no worries. Enjoy! Pros: Great variety, great tasting food, a one of a kind experience Cons: Can sometimes be a little crowded, but they are opening an additional location soon more

The BEST Sushi I have EVER HAD! 6/1/2006

Oh my God the variety is unbelievable! The quality and the taste of the food is great. If you are traveling thru Beaumont you HAVE to stop here. If you live in Beaumont, this should be on your ""regular"" restaurant run. I live in Houston and I have craved it since I visited the restaurant in March. Houston has a lot of sushi restaurants but not one can come close to this one. Nothing on the menu is ordinary. I recommend the Diablo and Crunch rolls. You can't go wrong!
