My experience at Today's Vision Gateway was excellent. I was greeted promptly upon arrival. I have an eye condition called keratoconus which prevents me from having clear vision with regular contacts and glasses. I have been to many doctors who could not clear my vision better than the big ""E"" on the eye chart. I had seen Dr. Chavana at a local laser center, and he suggested Synergeyes contacts. When I arrived for my fitting for this custom contact, Doctor Chavana and a representative from the Synergeyes company were there to fit me with my new contact. I am now 20/20. They have also, scheduled a procedure to stabilize my condition. I greatly appreciate what this office has done for me. I have recommended this office to all my friends. more

Today's Vision--Best Experience Ever 6/5/2011

Today's Vision has to be ranked as one of the best medical visits I have experienced. I filled out my paperwork online and when I arrived the staff started my exam immediately. The staff was very knowledgeable of my insurance benefits and very attentive to my needs. The office is very high tech. I didn't know what I was missing until I came to this office. They scanned my cornea and took photos of my retina--no drops. \r I am over 40, and having difficulty reading. Dr Chavana explained all the options to correct my vision. We decided on bifocal contacts and I am amazed at the result. The staff called a few days later to see how I was doing with my contacts. I will send my friends there. \r more

AWSOME 2/27/2011

Service was great from the beginning. I received a text message appointment reminder. When I arrived, the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. I did not even know I had insurance, but when I arrived, they informed me they had done research to find my insurance--What a surprise--my exam and glasses were covered in full. Dr Chavana performed my exam, explaining all the options to improve my vision--Lasik, bifocal contacts and progressive lenses. The staff was very knowledgeable about lenses and frames. I picked up my glasses today and very happy with the results. more

Fast , Prompt and wonderful 12/28/2008

I called on Saturday requesting an appointment for our family of three.\r I called Today?s Vision because a friend said they were very good and we needed to use our insurance by the end of the year. They stated that all the appointment we taken but would stay after closing to see our family. The staff and doctor were very kind to accommodate our needs. The staff and doctor performed exams on our family in 45 minutes. They also were able to make two pair of our glasses during that time.\r Wow, less than one hour for 2 pairs. I am sending my family and co-workers to see Dr. Chavana. \r Pros: Great Location, Doctor and Staff more

Great Eyecare 12/28/2008

Today's Vision is Great. I have wornbifocal glasses for years and have nver had good vision. Dr. Chavana and his staff ordered custom bifocal conatacts. His staff was very helpful in training me to use my new contacts. I can now see my computer, cell phone and television with no problems. To which they broke within a few days and when they came in, I said that they looked like they did not fit her well, we came back 2 times in a week to which they adjusted them as she got them for her bat mitzah. Well guess what they broke the evening of her bat mitzvah and she could not wear them. He then exchanged them for another pair she chose. They came in so tight for her face and when my husband came back in, he ? why the ones she chose in the store fit her and these did not. First, he tried to explain how tight glasses were the new style. then my husband asked to see where he measured her and it turned out they ordered a size smaller than what they measured. totally incompetent . more

Slow, Expensive, Rude and a Bad Prescription. My Today's Vision Nightmare.... 9/20/2007

I have been to many opthamologists and optometrists in my life but ""Dr"" Mark Chavana at Today's Vision has got to be the worst. I don't even know where to begin. My appointment was at 3:30 and I didn't leave there until after 6pm! They were so slow and kept leaving me in rooms by myself for literally half an hour or more at a time. At one point he stopped my appointment so he could check 3 post Lasik patients. The staff was rude and nobody seemed to know what they were doing, how to charge insurance, anything. It was like the blind leading the blind. The ""dr"" had no bedside manner at all and was not concerned about my appointment running 3 hours even after I told him I had to get my child from daycare before 6:30 or else I'd be charged $1 a minute. He basically told me I could leave if I wanted, he didn't care and he'd bill my insurance anyways. Nice huh? And their frame selection? Not only was it laughingly small but they were incredibly overpriced. When I told them I didn't want to buy glasses there the lady suddenly had to go ""help a patient"" and I had to wait even longer. Then to top it off, the prescription they gave me was slightly off and I couldn't see well out of my glasses when I got them from Lenscrafters. There was no way I was going back there so I just paid for a second exam somewhere else. Save yourself time, money and hassle and go somewhere else. There are plenty of places in Austin. Don't get roped in by the ""they must be good because they are by the Arboretum"" hype like I did. I can't BELIEVE Mann Eye Institute uses him for their North laser screenings. I'd rather drive down South than see him. Pros: Good location, that's about it Cons: Expensive, rude, slow, couldn't even get the scrip right more
