They made me rate them...TLC doesn't even deserve a star.
For those of you currently leasing from TLC, some info I had to DIG up that they didn't seem to happy with me knowing. Everytime I ask who is Jan's boss she won't tell me.....got my hands on that one! His name is Michael Cowan. He has an office in Midland/Odessa area. I haven't confirmed it but it seems that TLC is linked to McBw Properties but I don't know who they are. still looking in to it. His secretary, I believe her name to be Yessenia. their number 432.684.7790. Not that they seem anymore concerned about the well being of their tenants but I could be wrong. The secretary question me, ""How did you get this number anyway?"" What does it matter? My water git shut off! Get my water back on! Get this! Jan at least contacted Yessenia about the bill, Jan said her email reply included a message something like...""Lol. I forgot to pay the bill."" Lol???? Really? This is funny to her?
TLC has the tendancy to not pay the water bill. My water has been shut off twice now. I contacted my property manager about it on the emergency phone number and left a message. The level of professionalism I receive from Jan? A text message telling me corporate has been notified and she doesn't know when it will be back on...maybe in the morning? They don't have emergency numbers forher to get directly in touch with corporate to say he everyone's water is shut off so they can march their butt back to the office and pay the bill? LPandL could have come up until 9pm last night to turn it back on if they would have paid it. I ask if I need to get a hotel so I have running water and take it out of rent. Jan won't even respond to the message. REALLY?!!!
I contacted LPandL and someone told me specifically that TLC had not paid the bill. I will spare one of them from getting fired and not drop a name but one of them from their office told my neighbor (whose water was shut off too) that it is a $4000 bill. Funny thing about it is when I was speaking with the secretary. she was trying to deny it and say it wasn't that they hadn't paid it. I let her know where I got my info from and she quickly changed gears in saying well its been paid and your water should be back on. LPandL isn't the one who came and turned it on. I was informed by Jan that LPandL gave TLC permission to go turn all the water on with their own guys. Really?!
My neighbor asked to see a copy of the water bill from LPandL and they refuse to provide her with a copy of it. Every month they type up their own version of the bill. Thats fine but tenants have the right to see the original bill from the utility company.
Don't get me started on what a nightmare it is to have someone come fix something...or should i say rig it. 8 months for a new dishwasher. Several months to have a part on my stove replaced. I was told I will just have to use pliers to turn the knob. Excuse me? I don't think I pay $650 a month to live like I pay $200 a month. They would never allow themselves to have to live like that but they don't even flinch at the ideas someone else has too.
I am tellin you all this because it is important to be educated. These people prey on the ignorance of others and their fear of speaking up. Check your texas tenants handbook, the city of Lubbock codes inspector, the health department. Post it on here in hopes that you may help the next person.
It is sad how often I can mention TLC and somebody else says they have been a victim. I was told by one of their people that they manage 400 properties here in Lubbock. I think they oversee Madison Trails. I know they have sold off some of their properties as well. Any way about it, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!
