This location is one of, if not THE, best TJ Maxx in Birmingham. The square footage seems to be smaller than average, though they make up for it with a tightly-packed sales floor filled to the brim with product. What sets the location apart are three key factors: 1) great employees, 2) organization, and 3) more/better red-tag items.\r

1) Anyone who has shopped at the TJ Maxx on Crestwood in the past surely knew the notorious reputation it had for rude employees. In recent years, however, I've experienced nothing short of awesome employees. Polite, willing to help, fair about returns, etc. HUGE kudos to the folks in charge for running a tight ship, and kudos to everyone else for being friendly when on the job.\r

2) Any TJ Maxx shopper knows things are going to be scattered and disorganized; that's the name of the game, a treasure hunt! This location, more than any other I've been to, does a fantastic job at keeping the sizes on their appropriate racks to make your treasure hunt more effective. You always see at least one or two employees prowling around the store, double-checking racks to find any improperly-placed items. I've even come across the likely assistant managers manning the floor. That's a commitment to quality that I respect as a shopper at ANY store when I see the managers/assistants participating in the more-menial tasks. Look for 'em, you'll see them. One is practically the spitting image of the lovely Jessica Simpson, I swear!\r

c) This is the fun one...lots of red-tag clearance items! If you're like me, the treasure hunt is the fun of the TJ Maxx experience, and you'd be hard-pressed to go to this location and not find a couple of rad items at prices even lower than TJ Maxx' typical closeout prices. (Personal tip: this location should be your ONLY source for scented candles; a great selection, ridiculously hot prices.)\r

I try to make it in once a week, you should too!
Pros: Friendly/helpful employees, organization (HUGE factor for TJ Maxx), great clearance items, convienenent location alongside Big Lots.
Cons: If you don't like the TJ Maxx retail model of treasure hunting, what can I say, it won't be your cup of tea.
