Absolutely amazing food, the most incredible dishes I have ever eaten. Every bite seemed to melt like...

We went to Tinto to get out of the cold one day. There's not too much else around there, and it looked cozy. Wanted to try Village Whiskey but it was closed for a private party....

Avoid table at bottom of stairs, but otherwise fabulous 7/23/2007

Okay, everyone was talking about this place so my wife and I tried it. And LOVED it! The food and wine were spectacular! but the view up the stairs was not. It also put us at the busiest corner in the entire restaurant, which made us not only look up all skirts (not a bad thing really) as other patrons came down, but we also were constantly interrupted. So, great usage of space, I guess, but not where I recommend sitting for a romantic dinner with your life partner. Point is, the menu is excellent, and the wine's paired with it make it that much better, just be careful to ask not to be seated in highly congested areas. We intend to go back, but this time, we'll ask for upstairs seating. Pros: excellent food and drink Cons: too many tables to be comfortable everywhere more

Talented chef, innovative menu and great wine list. 5/8/2007

As a long time fan of Amada, I counted the days until Tinto opened its doors. I have to say that Tinto is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants on the east coast. The food is tapas- Basque style, very similar in flavors and presentation as the menu at Amada. We ordered the tasting menu- what a feast! I truly enjoyed my experience at Tinto and will be a devoted fan for years to come. Pros: Finally, Philly's restaurants can compete with New York's. A+++ more

WOW! 5/3/2007

My expectations were high, and the kitchen did not disappoint. Go to this restaurant and support one of the city's best chefs! You will be delighted. Pros: Great food, great service. more

Wow. Really impressed! 4/18/2007

I booked a reservation about two weeks ago & after much anticipation I finally ate at Tinto last night. Needless to say, I was really blown away! I arrived about 15 minutes early and was told they were running behind. The hostess took our jackets and encouraged us to stop by the bar for a drink. She was extremely pleasant. We were actually seated right at 9PM. The waiter let us look over the menu then came back a few minutes later and explained the entire menu and answered questions we had. Our waiter was the most knowledgable waiter I've ever had. I asked about one ingredient in one dish and he gave me a background to its originality, how it was grown, how its government controlled, etc. Not only was our waiter helpful and meticulous the entire staff was fantastic. A dirty, empty plate never sat on our table more than 2 minutes before it was whisked away. Now on to the food.\r \r Wow. That's about all I have to say. We were pretty hungry, so we managed to put down quite a good amount of tapas. We started with the mixto of meats AND cheeses. All of which were fantastic and the waiter let us select three cheeses from the list to be included in the mixto. The sandwiches were out of this world - we had the salmon with egg salad and caviar. The bruchettas were great as well....duck with cherries! Mussels were huge & the frites were served with a lemon coulis - very different combination but out of this world! Squid in their own ink was a highlight as well. The best thing was the lamb skewers with eggplant and an onion creme sauce. Out of this world! The dessert didn't disappoint either. Flourless chocolate cake with carmelized bananas and a creme sauce. Unbelievable! \r \r The wine was fantastic as well. The waiter was helpful in selecting a glass that would compliment our meat and cheese and then a bottle that would go pretty well with our other various selections. The atmosphere was amazing as well, small, yet private. Don't miss it! Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere, Lot parking directly across street Cons: I've very picky and can't say a single bad thing about this place more

Just Great! 3/26/2007

Impressive wine list, great decor, and AWESOME food. Just like Amada, a great place to go to. Highly recommended. Pros: food, food, food more
