Tina's Hair Distinctions is in a converted brick house in the middle of a residential neighborhood. There are four women who cut hair, plus the proprietor, Tina, who hand-forms acrylic nails. One of the stylists specializes in cutting men's hair (of all ages - children and adult). \r

My favorite stylist is Brooke Marshall. We chat about our lives while she cuts and colors my hair. I have to set aside a full hour because Brooke is incredibly thorough - she insists upon drying my hair after she cuts it to see if anything doesn't quite look right. I have brought in several pictures, which she adapts to my face. I've gotten lots of compliments on my hair, and have recommended her to several people. My sister also goes to Brooke to get her hair done. \r

I've had acrylic nails applied by Tina, the owner. They aren't cheap - around $35 to $45 a set, but they are durable, strong, and incredibly natural-looking. Brooke has given me a simple manicure with a paraffin wax dip, and my hands looked amazing. \r

The coffee is good, and the stylists are all friendly but very busy. If you want a haircut, you'd better call ahead.
Pros: Personal service, friendly people, free coffee!
Cons: Generally too busy to accept walk-ins
