Best

I liked my appointment with Dr. Finesmith. She is nice and low-key, and somehow made me feel very comfortable about doing the exam of my whole body. Dr. Finesmith thoroughly exam...

Worst

You be the judge: waited 45 minutes, saw Dr. for 20 minutes, was charged $564 (self insured) for unnecessary biopsy and minor procedure. Examination room untidy and ill-equippe...

Dr. Finesmith 4/25/2007

I saw Dr. Finesmith on the recommendation of my Family Doctor, who thought I should get a 'questionable' mole removed from my calf. I'd actually been concerned about it for some time, it had change shape, size, and color over the last few years. Dr. Finesmith didn't think there was any reason to be concerned. She didn't even think there was reason for biopsy. I insisted on a biopsy (at the very least), to put my mind at rest. My biopsy resulted in an ABNORMAL mole. Had I not said anything, I would still have an abnormal mole on my body. Goes to show, always trust your gut. more

Dr. Finesmith was impersonal & disinterested 4/25/2007

I saw Dr. Finesmith for an unexplained rash that had started to go away but had then reoccured. Although I went to urgent care and was told it was probably an allergic reaction, I decided to go see a dermatologist after it became inflamed again on my neck. Dr. Finesmith diagnosed me with pityriasis rosea and then pretty much sat there silently waiting for me to leave - no joke. I got up from my chair fumbling over my words and let myself out. I received no tips to ease the symptoms and no offer of a prescription antiviral drug (which I later read helps the majority of people speed up the healing process). The next morning I called Dr. Finesmith's office to speak to her about getting a prescription. I asked to speak to the doctor but she was busy. The receptionist said I could leave a message. I asked if she would be able to call me back that day and I was basically told "no". The receptionist took my message of the prescription request and then told me that if Dr. Finesmith agreed to have it filled she would just call it in to my pharmacy. I was exasperated and asked if I would at least get a call from the doctor telling me if she filled it or not, and the receptionist told me that SHE would call me - not Dr. Finesmith. The receptionist called me back 5 1/2 hours later - right before they closed for the day telling me they would not be giving me anything. I feel like I received horrifically substandard treatment and don't understand how any doctor could be so unconcerned about the welfare of her patients. more

I expected better treatment 4/1/2007

I expected better treatment from a physician than Dr. Finesmith offered. I agree with the other reviews that this Dr. seemed more concerned with $$ than with me. She was cocky, arrogant, and impersonal. Somehow, I expected more from a female doctor. Is this equality of the sexes? Stereotypical, I know, but I often find female doctors to be more personable and to take more time with their patients than males. Not this one! Equality in this case = bad. more

Not the best derm 10/8/2006

My first thought was that this office is over- focused on collecting copay payments upfront. Ok, not a problem. Later when I called to pay my remaining portion of the bill, I was told the doctor did not accept credit card payments over the phone. More hassle. The doctor herself was not a good fit for me- I found her distant and didn't seem to know any more about my condition than I did. more

Not impressed at all. 5/19/2006

First impression: The receptionist had really BAD acne. That was not a good sign. I don't have too many problems with acne but i just wanted nicer looking skin and i wanted to have some moles looked at. The doctor was short with me and extremely unresponsive. My issues i wanted to see her for my have been slightly insignificant, but you are a doctor and i have concerns. Don't act like my needs don't matter. That's how i felt when i left her office. My sister saw the same doctor, i later found out, and had the same experience. We are both NEVER going back. more
