The phone operator will constantly pester you when you want to cancel. We're college students moving out of our apartment and the operator kept asking if we were moving anywhere where we would get cable etc. The digital cable box stopped working at one point and we could not use our guide or info button for 3 days, then when the cable man finally got here it magically worked again without him doing anything. My friend got charged for digital cable when he only had basic channels and no cable box. Some channels have never even come in at all, such as CW. Whenever you call timewarner you have to have all your account info, making it nearly impossible for my other roomates who weren't account holders to ask a question. I had satelitte at my parent's house, and while it would occasionally go out for 10 minutes during a thunderstorm, all the channels came in MUCH clearer than cable, and the customer service was much more friendly and helpful than time warner. And the worst part about cancelling? They make you return your cable box and remote not at the local office, but at a booth in a mall that is AT LEAST a 40 minute drive from Oxford. If you're not stuck in an apt that will only let you have cable, go for satelitte!
Pros: fast internet
Cons: everything mentioned in the comments, and the price we paid was outrageous. $100/month for cable and internet, no DVR
