I would highly recommend this shop for everyone who is looking for a place to shop for gift items. The price is quite low but the quality is amazing. Thank you so much. more

a amazing place - stands out amoung the others 11/1/2013

I was blown away when i walked in to the place. They are like a collecables superstore. Where else can you walk into a 4000 square foot store with comics, cards, video games, dvd's and hundreds of vintage and new toys including a huge selection of star wars and transformers. Its totally amazing to me to walk upto a register with a dvd, comics, 2 playstation games and a set of baseball cards all at one time.\r \r If you go there sometimes there is a line and the employess seem a little stressed but at all times they were curtious and very friendly.\r \r a truly unique place in a non unique world\r \r jerry Pros: great selection / reasonable prices Cons: very busy place so you need patience more

Dirty, Piled up, unorganized atrocity accompanied by the worst, angriest, bitterest, screw you give me your money and leave kind of service I have ever experienced in my life. Older male behind the counter was screaming and arguing with children and forcing them to leave the store for no reason! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 8/22/2012

This store SUCKS. The prices are entirely too high, customer service doesn't exist and the store itself smells like mold and dirty feet. EVERY time i have been there, the workers are too busy cruising the internet, and are completely put out by simple questions or requests for help. Now, to the owner. I have no idea how he stays in business being as rude and ignorant as he is. No price tags on most items, he eye balls you, and then the item creating a price in his tiny pea brain. take it or leave it is his game. piles of dusty, dirty, broken star trek and star wars items are piled to the ceiling. any self respecting comic book nerd wouldn't come here. more

We love this place. My fave dish is the ""Mexican Flag"" which is oh-so tasty. Not authentic Mexican, no, but who cares? It's in a great location, we hardly ever have to wait, and it's good. more

Mike is a dick!! 12/21/2011

I have such mixed feelings about Time travelers in Berkley. This store does have an amazing amount of inventory, and in my several years of varous collecting, i have never not found what i was looking for in this establishment, there is so much, that you might indeed get overwhelmed. So that is the good news..now the bad, The store is run by the nastiest man in the buiness. I think they based comic book guy in the simpsons after Mike the owner of Time travelers. He is a rude, nasty, cold, and ( did i mention rude). Ive seen Mike belittle young kids that were trying to get a fair price on games they were trying to sell to him, and more then once when i was only looking to spend a few dollars in his store, i was basically dismissed, and ignored. Most of his long time staff members are also as nasty as mike is, but if your owner is that rude to people, then who is telling his staff to act any differently.\r Its really to bad that Time travelers is the only game in town anymore with that more

Wonderful store. 9/29/2011

I moved to Michigan about three months ago, and wasn't familiar with the area at all. I had left all my friends, family, and more importantly, my Magic The Gathering hang-out store back in Austin. So when I first got to Michigan, my first order of business was to find a new Cards/comic shop where I could just go and play Magic, and buy the most recent cards. I called around, and discovered that this was the largest store. So I called, and the service was great over the phone, answering all my questions. When I got there, however, I was flashed awkward and almost dirty looks buy the customers AND workers. I looked around the store, and wasn't too impressed by the lack of cleanliness in the store. There were piles of junk (aka collectibles) piled literally all the way to the ceiling. However, I wasn't there for the collectibles or comics. I was there to play/purchase MTG cards. In this aspect, the store was THE best store! Even better than back home in Austin! There were plenty of tables to play on as well as PLENTY of cards to purchase. I also discovered that they offer fair prices to purchase cards. The only problem that remained was the dirty awkward looks. After revisiting the store about five times, the looks fizzled away. Turns out, only a regular crowd goes there to play MTG, so an unfamiliar face was something nobody was expecting. Now, I'll swing by Time Traveler's one or two times a week, and although I may not be the most popular ""regular"" there, I still feel welcomed. The service is top notch. I DEFINITELY recommend this store to ALL Magic players! Five>*****more

50/50 9/12/2011

I can see why there are mixed reviews on here. Let me try to clear things up so people can make up their minds. Parking- It was common sense to me that there was parking in the back. Parking is easily marked and close to the back door which is clearly labelled. Cleanliness- It is an absolute pigsty. Packed to the ceiling with random crap that I am sure is overpriced. Really disappointing to see some of the stuff they have butchered up the way it is. Inventory- They do have an impressive collection of crap. Can't deny that. If you are looking for something inparticular, I am sure it's there. You just might need to repair or sterilize it first. Service - The younger of the male employees is quite helpful. Greeted me nicely and answered all my stupid questions without making me feel they were stupid (hey if I knew the answers, I wouldn't be there right?). The other, older male employee is not really the type of person that should be in the service business. He clearly hates talking to people and may be a little bitter about how his younger days went. I tried to be nice and evoke some type of response, but I got an assembly line of one-word answers and a complete, overwhelming slap in the face of disinterest. Overall- I kind of expect uncleanliness and anti-social employees in a comic shop so my expectations were low going in. The one employee is very nice and takes my focus off the rest of the store. The other employee makes the piles of junk swell. But, they probably have what you need and it's in a good location where parking is NOT an issue. I would definitely recommend it, but please, just remember... you are entering a comic store, not an Abercrombie & Fitch. Expect to be welcomed by bummers. more

Fair prices, fast service 7/22/2011

I have been calling game stores in the area to find a box of M12 cards, and most of the places that I had contacted wanted 100USD or more, excluding tax. When I called Time Traveler's, I didn't even ask directions, I was provided with a simple, accurate location of the store. When I visited Time Traveler's, they wanted 95USD plus tax, which is five dollars more than the internet price. So instead of having to pay shipping and tax, I essentially paid what I would have paid over the internet and was able to take delivery the same day. When I walked into the store, a heavy set man greeted me,""Hey how are you, I'll be with you in just a minute."" while he was busy with a customer. I was in and out of the shop in about five minutes, so I really didn't get a good look at the rest of the store but, I can tell it is expansive, one of the larger game stores that i have ever seen. If you are looking for a fair price and quick service for your collectible wants, Time Traveler's is the place to be. Pros: Massive selection, fast service, good prices. Cons: Very dimly lit. Although it adds to the ambiance of the store, I guess. Also, parking is located behind the store. more

Taking Advantage of People 7/19/2011

Horrible shop, with loads of dusty crap that they sell back for high prices. For collectors: cards, toys, collectables - you can find anything they have and more at a much better price, any day, any time via online searches. Save your money and don't support these slime balls, as it only contributes to them taking advantage of more unsuspecting young kids and adults. more

Ambitious, varied, friendly, and most import they got stuff! 4/25/2011

The parking is perfect and convenient behind the store. Some might be too feeble brained to find it. The parking in rear signs obscure the view of the back lot. They are not false people. If they do not know you they dont pretend they do. They answer direct questions directly. And they got stuff. My son loves the joint. more

the toy store for grownups 1/4/2011

you remember when you were a kid and walked into toys-r-us for the first time..? well thats what it feels like walking into time travelers.\r \r I have been coming here for years (mainly for magic cards and tournaments) and it is one of the best collectibles/comics/card game stores around. i have a feeling all of these people bad mouthing time travelers are competing businesses because i have never experienced bad customer service nor seen someone else being treated poorly by the owner or staff while i was present. they are knowledgeable on the products they are selling, have some of the best magic prices around (example, for magic card packs they sell 7 packs of whatever is the newest expansion for 20 bucks... try and find somewhere else that does that) and offer fair prices on things when youre trying to sell to them. the only "negative" thing i can agree with is that they do have lots of stuff thats not organized but thats not a big deal. most of what people would be looking for more

a truly amazing store - A TIME TRAVELER - really !! 11/7/2010

I do not know where to start - I was greeted as I walked in the most amazing store ever. It was a combinations of old and new - a collectors delight. I asked alot of questions and the staff, when not busy, took alot of time answering for me. The prices seemed kind of high on the older stuff but when I did my research I found that they were actually reasonable - I think I thought it was high because of lack of knowledge or actually being cost consious. This place had so much in it that it took me awhile to see everything that they had. I really imagined buying holiday gifts for the future as I shopped. They had alot more then any other store in Michigan. I noticed they were buying alot of items and the salesman told me thats how they get the nice selection and good prices buy buying from the public instead of mostly from the original company - makes sense to me. I found everything was organized nicely and the selection was spectacular - 4000 amazing square feet of merchandise. more

THE WORST ""STORE"" EVER!!! 9/3/2010

I actually travel the country visiting comic and game shops as part of my job. It's a great way to earn a living and it makes me very happy... usually. In my 20 years of experience as a comic book collector, I never dreamed a store as unprofessional as this ever existed. First, calling this place a ""store"" is generous because it implies that it a legitimate business, owned and operated by educated individuals, when in fact, nothing could be farther from the truth. Second, it implies that the location is even shop able. The product is not at all easily accessible in neat organized displays, but rather lost in dusty heaps of damaged product. I have been to garage sales that are better merchandised and frankly, as a collector, the mangled products are disgusting. It broke my heart to open boxes only to find bent cards, broken toys, and comics that were neither bagged nor boarded. Third the prices are OUTRAGEOUS!!! The collectibles market is like the stock market, it fluctuates over time. Any single product's value rises or falls based off the principles of supply and demand. As demand goes down so do the prices, except at Time Traveler's, where prices remain at each products all time high no matter how out dated or obsolete. They even charge above suggested retail prices on current regular retail products. I pity the poor fool who pays their ridiculously overinflated prices. Parking is horrible. You are better off finding some place down the street to walk from your vehicle (and shop). Lastly, I have NEVER, EVER, witnessed such HORRENDOUS customer service in any business any where! The staff is overtly hostile to customers and they are not joking with a smile on their face either, they flat out scream and yell at anyone who dares interrupt their surfing the internet, hanging out with friends, or ask a question about the rows and rows of product that is hidden away behind the counter. They do not hesitate to make it clear that they neither need nor want your business over the merest perceived slight and frankly they don't deserve it. In summary, I could not possibly give this business a positive review in any category. They are ignorant, rude, and overcharging their customers for inferior product. You the reader would be best served taking you money somewhere, ANYWHERE else. more

Amazing Store for collectibles/MAGIC/D&D/comics 5/13/2010

Ok for everyone who hasn't been to this shop, they have the following: -Collectibles (New and Used) of any kind -HUGE collection of MAGIC The Gathering cards -ANY old trading card (YuGiOH, Pokemon, World/Warcraft) -thousands of Comics, prolly every comic ever made -Movies/DVDs of variety Play tables on Friday nights for Magic tournments/casual playing/hangout They Buy Magic Cards too. Take in your cards, they look through them, and give fair prices, however, they only buy Rares and Mythic Rares for good prices. Bulk/uncommon/commons...good luck. They stock alot of modern Magic cards. They do NOT match buylists from websites (e.g. MTGfanatic, TrollandToad etc...) uhm as far as the prices, they only go by the employees knowledge, they search some values on the computer (sometimes). I sold a 'Wrath of God -Portal' for $11. so yeah they only look for rare cards. Alot of reviews on this page are negative, prolly because they got ripped off because they weren't knowledgeable. As a first time visitor, I was very pleased. It is a very cool store. The parking is behind the store (but they have a back door entrance, so I don't know why people complain) Pros: Greastest selection of all Magic Cards/Comics Cons: Hard to find items due to huge selection more

It's a BUSINESS 12/18/2009

Okay, so there aren't 50 employees, waiting to serve your every need. He's just a SMALL business owner - NOT Wal-Mart. I think the owner does a VERY GOOD job - given the CRAPPY economy that we've had in Michigan, for years. He makes MOST of the new product available every week. If you want to ensure you get something, he takes advance orders. If you were under his amount of CONSTANT stress, you'd get grumpy, sometimes, too - and, if you come in with an attitude, you're likely to get it thrown back at you (like, I suspect, a couple of people who've commented here did). You Reap what you Sow! Running ANY small business is TOUGH, nowadays. And, from *my* experience, collectors are about the most difficult to work with. He DOES buy collectibles. However, he's NOT gonna pay you anywhere near what he hopes to get for it (it's a BUSINESS, after all). The Collectibles Market is worse than the Stock Market, lately, with it's Downs, Ups, and even more Downs. For over 30 years, I've known Mike, the owner; and, yes, like most people, he has his bad times. But don't let the fact that he has flaws (like MOST humans), stop you from visiting his well-stocked store. If you can't make it to his store, check out his web site or the eBay listings. Have FUN!!! Pros: Good Selection & Prices Cons: Not a Library more

Stay away from this place. 8/3/2009

Although upon entering Time Travelers you may find quite a wide selection of comics, trading cards, and other interesting items, be ready to have quite a struggle with the staff. Pros: Large Selection of Comics Cons: Unbelievably Rude Staff, High Prices, Disorganized more

Solid store 6/6/2009

Nice little place, good selection of comics and toys. They only really stay current on comics, I went looking for D&D 4E books and the closest they got was AD&D. If your looking for older collectibles or any comics, stop here. Good selection of rarer comics too. I don't know a thing about cards but they had a lot of Magic under glass and 2 games were going on at tables set up. The owner was never rude to me, a little gruff, but always helped or got someone else to help pretty quickly. more

Great Collection of Everything You Could Possibly Want and More 2/16/2009

Time Tracerlers is a great place to go to find all sorts of old trinkets. The owner is a little sour but thats only until you get to know him, which then he becomes a pretty cool guy with lots of knowledge about everything. The card shop guy's are very smart about what they do. Magicwise they have very reasonable prices for single cards and have a large knowledge about decklists, single cards, new sets, and prices. They also have many other cards and are knowledgeable to in-depth rules of most games. Pros: Nice People, Great Prices Cons: Parking more
