I have read several reviews from people praising Tilley's of Statesville. There is just the one, right? Maybe it's just me. Heres my experience. I bought a used bike there at a descent price and spent hundreds on apparel. I hated the bike, just could not get used to it. I went and talked about trading and spotted another used bike I had to have. This part was my fault but, I just said 'get the paperwork and I will sign'. Of course the price was ridiculously high, I noticed later but, I thought, oh well, what matters is Im happy with the bike. Well, one month later, they cut our hours at work! Oh great! Guess what, Tilley's wont take a bike on consignment. They would not let me trade for something cheaper because I had no value in my bike, in other words, I paid too much for it. I made it through the winter but barely. I put out several adds to sell it but its not worth what I owe. Well, I discovered a pre-existing condition with the bike and took it in for a repair. They have one nice guy at the counter and one nice repairman. The rest treated me with much disrespect ( to put it mildly ). I paid for the repair and left. My first stop to get gas I noticed some damage to the bike that I am 100% sure was not there before they had it. I went right back but the service dept. had just left so I showed it to two salesmen and the old man that stands by the front door. They took a picture and said to come back when service was open. I did and they acted like they didnt know what I was talking about. So, we argued for a while until my witness' said yes, he came back but too late to see service. They look at it and talk to their repairman then come back and tell me he said he did not do the damage! We argued some more until I give up and leave. Later I get a call from the nice service manager and he says they will pay half of the cost to fix the damage. I dont see why I should pay any part of it and he says, thats the best he can do, THEY didnt want to do anything about it. Back in the day, the customer was always right. Boy have the times changed. In this case, I know Im right and have witnesses. I wish I could afford a lawyer! They will not see my face again or, anyone else that I can convince not to go!
Pros: They sell Harleys
Cons: They dont care about you
