Huge new library 12/31/2005

This branch recently moved up the street and it's new location is great! A huge space with lots of parking - a drive up book return and just a block from the old location. Inside, it is laid out nicely and definitely has a new feel to it. It's a pleasure to go here because it has an upscale feel to it now and there is plenty of space for reading and browsing. I have taken my children here several times as well and it has a great kid's section. more

Beautiful library - perfect for kids! 9/26/2005

I just recently made my first visit to the new Tigard Library and I was very impressed. They have an amazing children's section - one of the biggest I have seen and there are so many books that my daughter went nuts! They even have computers just for the kids and all tons of videos, magazines, book/tape combos- and of course, lots of regular books too! There are tables throughout for the children to sit and read. It's a great place to spend some time - a perfect place to go when you need to get out of the house, especially if it's raining outside. We always have fun and always come home with lots of new books to read and movies to watch. The adult sections are great too - I just hardly ever get to spend any time there because my kids love going there so much we spend all our time in the children's section! more

Excellent Children's Section! 8/27/2005

After visiting the NEW Tigard Library I was very impressed -- and my kids were too! I have never checked out the upstairs because we are always in their incredible children's section. It is huge and has so much to offer! Between computers for my 5 year old (that my 2 year old can "play" with too and not mess anything up) and all the videos, magazines and books on tapes - oh, and rows and rows of regular books too! There are tables all over for kids to read the treasured books they find... and I should also mention the bins of board books for the littlest guys. We go to the NEW Tigard Library regularly and spend a few hours there each time! It is a great way to get out of the house on a rainy day and fun for everyone! more

A Perfect Library 8/26/2005

The Tigard Library should have a poem or song written about it. It sits next to a grove of tall pine trees, and when you enter, you're drawn to the softness of the terracotta colored walls, the brand new computers with a two-hour limit, instead of the usual one, and it has a coffee shop. Yes, you can write on the computer and sip your favorite latte, mocha or blended espresso drink as long as there is a lid on it. There is a reading room that has one long wall of windows and a fireplace with cozy chairs and library tables. Tigard Library spoils and calms. It is truly the perfect library, complete with view, couches, books and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. more
