I had been using The Tidy Maids for approximately 3 months when I noticed that a piece of my furniture appeared to have been damaged during cleaning that day. Since it was late at night when I noticed, I called the office first thing the next morning. I nicely explained what I had found after the cleaning the previous day and said that I was positive that it was a mistake, but that there had been some damage done. Paul, the company rep I spoke with never apologized or expressed any conern. He only asked it he could come by to assess the situation. He came by several days later and during his visit still never once apologized, but instead only insisted that the company didn't use any products that could have caused the damage. After he suggested several totally ridiculous and completely unacceptable ways in which he wanted to repair my furniture, we agreed that I would contact the store where I originally bought the furniture and see what they recommended. So after multiple phone calls and a special trip to the furniture store (after a long day at work) I reported back to Paul what I had been told. He still wanted to argue over how he didn't think that The Tidy Maids had caused the damage in the first place and did not want to do what the furniture store recommended (b/c it wasn't cheap!). He then wanted me to get this information in writing and fax it to him. So once more, I was stuck doing lots of extra work, running extra errands after working all day, all b/c of what I'm sure was an accident, but still wasn't MY fault. I got the information in writing from the furniture store (plus info from an upholsterer...more work for me later requested by Paul) and faxed it to him. Five days later I still hadn't heard from him so I called. He claimed (lied) that he had not recieved my fax five days earlier and then on top of that, he still would not agree to fix my furniture as recommended by the furniture store. He also still would not admit that the company was responsible for the damages and never muttered anything close to an apology. In the end, I accepted payment for half of the costs simply b/c I couldn't continue to devote so much time to this. I have never encountered such a poor excuse for a business as The Tidy Maids. My only advice is that if you hire them, set up secret cameras b/c if something happens to your property they will NOT even entertain the thought that it could be their fault.
Pros: Did an ""acceptable"" job of cleaning
Cons: Co. owner/rep refused to adequately compensate for damages
