Theater without the trip to NYC 8/19/2005

The theater league offers an alternative to traveling to New York City or Toronto to catch so of the present day productions. The Rochester Theater is a beautiful old theater and is an excellent venue for many of the productions that can be seen on Broadway. The actors and productions are of a quality similar to what you would get on Broadway with out the task of going all the way to NYC. A night at the Rochester Theater is great date. more

How else are you supposed to see the best of broadway when you’re stuck way up here in Rochester NY?! These guys always pick the best shows to bring to town. The shows aren’t always great but you can’t blame them for that! I loved Moving ON and Lion King is coming! It really feels like NYC when you’re in the theatre! more

Just as good as Broadway 7/18/2005

We had season tickets last year and renewed for this year. The caliber of performances of musicals has greatly exceeded our expectations. For example, we saw "The Producers" here and then on Broadway a month later. The show in Rochester was energetic, fun, and true to the music. The Broadway show was not nearly as well done! I am happy to say last year's lineup was world-class: The King and I, The Producers, Movin' Out, Chicago, and Thoroughly Modern Millie. Most if not all were just as good as their Broadway counterparts are/were. This year includes the Lion King, Peter Pan, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It is a great theater with a lot of heart! Nice job! more
