I must admit that I've never been a huge fan of Thai food. So, when my nannys husband (who is Irish and eats only meat and potatoes) started raving on this place--I tuned him out. Our nanny was having a baby and we all decided to celebrate her ""retirement"". I asked where she wanted to go---Thong Thai was the response. So--off we went. OH MY GOD. It is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Good! And I am a foodie--a massive food snob by my own admission. The food is expertly prepared. Ive been told that the wife cooks in the back and that she is master thai chef (whatever that means---its just GOOD!) I could go on and on....... Delicate, perfectly cooked, original items, top notch quality fish/meat/vegetables. The downside--the place is a complete dive. Kind of dirty and no waitstaff really. The husband serves as the waiter, cashier and hostess. I guess that you could consider that quaint. But the food more than makes up for it. Honestly---quaility is something that you would find at a trendy spot that would charge three times as much (and get it) in Lincoln Park.
Pros: Food
Cons: ambiance (there really isn't any)
