Thompson's Corner

Thompson's Corner is under new ownership but I have it straight from the new owners mouth that there will be few changes to the place. And no they are not city slickers from SF; they have been living in Fairfield well over 20 years and counting. If it aint broke don't fix it! Thompson's is a local's hangout and a must if you are passing through on 80. It is a dive but the best dive on earth. They have quite the collection of undergarments on the ceiling. I personally have left undergarments behind to add to the growing collection. Actually now that I think of it; I'm about due to add something again. Need to go bra shopping anyway! Hey brothers and sisters of the road, this a good road stop on your way East on I-80. Take that Cordelia exit, go less than half mile (after making a left) and look for the fire department. It's just before that on the left. Great place, even though some supposedly yuppie from San Francisco just bought it and wants to do something 'different' with it. Hah, get by the patrons first, hippie. We're the one's who pay your utility bill and bar tab. \r Good biker hangout, lots of local and passerby folks stopping in here, especially on weekends. Weekdays its locals,rightfully so, and don't mess with us. We're more'n you can handle so just be nice. That'll get ya a long way and a lotta bought beer. \r Been riding into this bar since 1986. Concerned about the transfer of ownership, fer shur, but then some folks know better'n changing the formula for a successful bar scene. At least we can hope that's so. \r If not, some Green Valley Road investment banker will buy it and turn it into condos. \r Ride on brothers and sisters. Thompsons Corner has been around and kicking since 1902. So far thats a hundred and four years and running. The Bar has changed hands to many different owners over the past several years. A local watering hole for local 707ers and many local farmers, an older crowd by day and a younger crowd by night. If you're stuck in Fairfield for some reason and you got nothing better to do (which you won't have anything to do because you're stuck in FF) grab a friend and head on down to Thompsons corner for a few drinks and good company. Bring your permanent marker and forever etch a piece of your mind into the walls at Thompsons Corner. Cheap drinks too!!! Pros: Thumbs up more

This local bar has old time charm. Many people from around the world have heard of this place and have stopped in on there way to, and from San Francisco and other Northern Ca. sight seeing destination. Come see the memorabillia that some patrons have left hanging up on the ceiling and walls to express the wild fun time they had while visiting.
