Steven D. Thompson, M.D., P.A., F.A.C.S. is noted for his work in sports medicine, hand, shoulder, upper extremity surgery, and arthroscopic knee surgery. He also serves on the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, and on the faculty of The University of Texas Medical Branch as Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Born In Los Angeles, California, Dr. Thompson was raised In Richmond TX. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated HighSchool in Rosenberg. Dr. Thompson received his Bachelor's Degree in English from The University of Texas at Austin, and earned his Medical Degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
He completed his internship in general surgery at The University of Texas School of Medicine at Houston, and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He has practiced medicine In the area for almost 36 years and orthopaedic surgery for over 31 years. His father, Stanley E. Thompson, M.D. has practiced as a family practitioner in the same area for 60 years and still enjoys a vibrant practice at 92 years of age.
