Inexpensive Ice Cream Shop in DC! 12/21/2005

This is our newest hidden treasure in Washington DC that is worth a trip out to the city on a beautiful night. When we go to this quaint little ice cream shop in Georgetown with out-of-town guests, we always cut through the Georgetown campus and then take a car tour of DC. The ice cream shop sells reasonably priced homemade ice cream and soft serve. They also sell fudge and other homemade candy. The Bittersweet Chocolate is to die for. They also have these treats that are similar to Dairy Queen Blizzards that are really good. For being in Georgetown, the prices are excellent. The bathroom is a little dingy. more

Breakfast All Day and Ice Cream Too! 11/10/2005

Thomas Sweet is the best place for a quick breakfast in Georgetown. However, that's not even it's strong point, the ice cream is! They have a wide selection of homemade ice cream and frozen yogurt. In the warm months the lines can get long but the staff is quick and friendly. They also make their own fudge. I've been coming here for years and the quality has never faltered. There is seating both inside and outside. Don't come to Georgetown without stopping here. I heard some Georgetown gossip that Oprah came in this past Summer so you know it must be good! more
