Theresa Davis, MFT

I found this therapist to be nice on the surface but I did not connect with her. She seemed phony. I felt like she would say things to agree with me or what she thought i wanted to hear. I felt like instead of encouraging me to work things out with my husband (which is what I wanted to do) she was encouraging or feeding my anger. I needed to work through my anger and hurt because ultimately my husband and I did not handle our issues in a constructive way. Allowing me to vent is one thing but to encourage me to take a stand based on my perspective I was not helpful. \r \r I also did not like that she keeps emailing me to followup with smiley faces (childish). If I wanted to continue seeing her, I would call. She cushions it by expressing concern but I know it is about the money. She is expensive and when her calendar is not full, she starts calling. It is quite transparent. more

Wonderful!! Theresa was the 3rd therapist we saw for our teenage daughter and the first one to truly connect with her. Theresa has a friendly but no non-sense way about her that really worked with our daughter and the whole family. more

I do not recommend. In searching for a therapist, i interviewed Ms. Davis. I felt she talked to me like a child and was agreeing with me or patronizing me. I need someone who will help me sort things out and help me put things in perspective. Not someone that treats me like a child. How is this helpful? This is not what i am paying for. more

My experience with Theresa has been amazing. I came in not even sure of where to begin, or how much to share. Her compassion and and expertise brought me out of my shell. She is someone who is easy to talk to, but also does not let you take the easy road. She challanges you to face and overcome the issues that brought you there. I feel that she goes the extra mile by keeping in touch from time to time just to make sure all is going well. I would strongly reccommend her to help, when you face life's struggles. more

My initial experience with Ms. Davis was not positive. I found her to be judgmental and unprofessional. I have seen several therapist and I am glad I had experienced with others otherwise I would be totally turned off on therapy. I would not recommend her at all. When I told her that I did not think she was a good match for me, she accused me of getting mad. I did not get mad. I was merely stating the I did not think it was worth moving forward. She seemed to take it personally. This is a business arrangement for which there is a fee attached for services. It is OK to express my feelings. This is not a good sign - a therapist that expects to hear what she wants to hear. more

Theresa is very gifted at what she does. She makes therapy not only helpful but enjoyable. I've gone through several therapists and never stuck with it until I found her. I feel like she has taken the time to really get to know me not just because it's part of her job but because she wants to. She really goes above and beyond to help her clients.
