After reading the cooresonding reviews to this article I have to ask, when is the last time you have been to this place? Given a reservation on Mothers Day at a moments notice should have been my first clue. When you walk into the restaurant you immediately wonder, is this a steakhouse or a clip from Texas Chainsaw Massacre? It was so dark you can barely see when walking thru the door! A musty, unkept smell of old carpet and stale furnishings is hard to ignore. Upon being seated it took a better of 25 minutes to get our drinks alone, dinner was overpriced and tasteless, steaks were not prepared to even the most agreeable diners liking, lobster tails were LARGE, but extremely tough. I normally am not one to comment, my husband and I normally go to Hyde Park, Mitchells, Mortons, at least twice a month, but have never tried the Top. Food had to be sent back twice between our party of 8 and was still horrible. The service was slow and all of that could have been looked over if at the end of the day we had great food. Upon complaining to the manager (which is not a normal practice I promise you), who claimed to be part owner, he was COMBATIVE and RUDE! I have always heard such wonderful things about this restaurant, a GREAT food place but a hole in the wall, was the description I was given. This I wouldn't send anyone I knew with ANY food knowledge what-so-ever. I have no problem paying for a good meal, you get what you pay for usually in these establlishments, but this place was repulsive, right down to the manager/owners personality. Mortons here we come!!!
Pros: We were given a reservation in a timely manner
