not as good as it's cracked up to be.. 6/12/2009

I went to the temple with a recommendation from a friend, but it was definitely not what I expected. I wanted a color, cut & style. I was also aware that it was a school and didn't expect them to be as good as a regular salon. But, as soon as I sat down in the chair my stylist started having a heart attack because I dye my hair at home, I couldn't believe how she treated me, it was like I committed a crime. She was like OMG, I don't know what I'm going to do!! From then on she acted like she had to "fix" my hair because it was the grossed thing she had ever seen or something. She treated me like I was trash or stupid or something the whole time. And if that's not enough the shampoo girl started attacking me for using garnier frutisse shampoo, and said that it was cheap and trashy to use shampoo from the grocery store and I needed to use the Paul Mitchell shampoo. In the end I have to admit that my hair looked pretty good, although it was totally not what I wanted (the color was wrong a more

You get what you pay for... 6/5/2009

My 2 girlfriends and I went in for a cut, color, and style after hearing some positive reviews of the place. However, that was not at all what we received. My one girlfriend has medium brown hair, and asked for blond highlights and ended up with black hair. My other girlfriend went in to the place with a picture of what she wanted, a not too complicated shoulder length, layered style, and what she ended up with was an above the ears page boy hair cut. Finally, I myself requested blond highlights, and received patches of color unevenly dispersed throughout my hair that made it absolutely impossible to wear a ponytail in public. The "learning leaders" do not watch their students efficiently enough for my friends and I to go back there with confidence. The school also overbooks their students to which they require you to leave the chair, but, have no where to go. After I was told by the owner that the school is designed for the students to make mistakes there so they wouldn't make mistake more

Best kept Secret for hair care in Frederick 12/14/2008

Yes it is a school, and it is a PAUL MITCHEL school. All the staff and students are first rate and give great style, I have lived here for almost five years and have gone to several local places paying big money for so so cuts till I stumbled upon this litttle gem last spring. I am there on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. The are really fresh in their attitudes and look. more

What an awesome place 11/4/2008

I have been to the Temple twice now to get my hair done. I loved what a fun atmosphere it was. The prices were great, especially for the quality of the products as well as the students. This is a school, however you must be to a certain level before you are allowed to cut/style hair. Both times I was more than satisfied with the results. Also, if you are afraid of going to a 'beauty school' don't be, the students are closely monitored by the teachers/owners. more
