The Storage Spot

Just finished using these folks for storage unitil our house sold. It worked out great for prepping our house and getting a bunch of stuff out. They stored it in their warehouse so we could show our house. When we finally got our new home, they delived the units to our new home. We did not use them for the moving of the bulk of our things. This was just becasue we wanted to move from our old place to our new one on the same day. They could not schedule bringing out and relocating the units on the same day, so we rented a truck per their recommendation. I guess it made sense as they have other deliveres to schedule and we could not give them exact times to come. For Storage I would highly recommend them, for moving just from one place to the next on the same day, they probibly are not the best fit. Oh for the con, I did need to be home when they delivered the units so I could sign the paperwork and show them where the containers went. They way they deliver is pretty cool, they have a forklift and could put the units anywhere. I researched several options, PODS, Uncle Bill's and The Storage Spot. I went with The Storage Spot because they were the best available option for the least amount of money. PODS - they cost the most. They store their units in Clinton. I am in Bloomington, that did not make sense. I did not want to drive there to acess my stuff. They also do not do climate controlled storage at the warehouses. Uncle Bill's - the were about as much as PODS. They do not store their units in a warehouse. They leave them outside. My stuff could not freeze so I needed climate control and heat. The Storage Spot - the cheapest. their warehouse is in Bloomington and it is all climate controlled. They also only charge you for the space you use. They dropped off 3 units and I only used 2. So they only charged me for 2. The other options charged for the space they delivered, only The Storage Spot charged for the space used. I did read the reviews before making my decision. I don't know why the person had such a bad review of The Storage Spot. My guess is that it was a comeptitor or something. Either way, I was extreemly happy with The Storage Spot. No need to rent trucks anymore. I Priced renting a truck and renting a seperate storage unit that was climate controlled so I did not have mold and mildew. By the time I did both the cost and convenience far and away beat the competition. I really liked the loading at my own pace thing also. We didn't have to try to get a bunch of people together on the weekends to put everything in a truck and move everything in one day. If I very am forced to do this task again I hope I can at least do it this same way! Pros: Cost, convenience of service was great. Cons: Not sure I had any. more

This is a company/service I would not recommend to anyone, even to my worst enemy! The staff was very rude and the "management" was a waste of time. The workers (owner) obviously couldn't have cared less about my item he was moving. He was too important to help even to answer a question. I think this business is a flop and a total waste! Awsome! We sold our home and had 2 weeks until we could close on our new home. They quickly brought us some pods and we filled them in about a week. They stored them for 2 weeks and brought them to our new house. I was so easy! more
