Wonderful Facial! 7/12/2011

I don't treat myself to facials often, but I am so glad I went to the Spa at the Mount Auburn Club for one. The practitioner, Catherine Briana, couldn't have been more pleasant and professional. I relaxed thoroughly and enjoyed every second. My skin felt wonderful afterwards! more

Not a relaxing environment 6/6/2010

I made an appointment at Mt Auburn Spa for a 30min pedicure and 30 min massage for myself and a friend. When I arrived the receptionist told me that my phone was disconnected and that my friend was unable to get her massage. We said that we could reschedule. My friend went for her pedicure and I sat there for 45 min waiting. Her services were completed and I still sat there. I went back to the receptionist and asked what was going on and told her that I had been waiting and my friend was done. The receptionist literally went off on me and told me that my appointment was in one minute and that I had to wait. I indicated the my appointment time had come and gone. She then told me that I had an attitude problem and if this was my personality all the time that it sucks. She also threw in my face that my phone was disconnected as if I did not belong there and I was beneath her. Just to let you know that the receptionist had the wrong number recorded and the wrong time of the appointment- what a wonderful receptionist. I have NEVER in my life been spoken to like this. I asked to speak to a manager and the receptionist got the manager while continuing to be extremely rude. I was so upset that I was shaking. You go to the spa to relax not to be treated like dirt. I had to reschedule my appointment , my friend had to reschedule her massage. Needless to say I do not want to go near this place again. My friend also witnessed the receptionist's attitude and how she treated me with disrespect. At the end neither the manager or receptionist apologized for their behavior even when I opened the conversation for it. The people at Mt Auburn Spa need to take lessons in customer service. I would also like to add that there were several other people there and they were very dissatisfied as well with the service and treatment that they received. Pros: There are none Cons: The receptionist more

Best Spa Around! 11/17/2007

I have been going to the spa at Mt. Auburn club (Sage Spa) for a few years now and have never had a less then perfect experience! I have had most of the treatments on the menu including facials, body wraps, different massages, third eye treatment, reflexology, rain drop therapy and hot stone stone massage. I left each time a different person then when arriving..sooo much lighter and relaxed :) Each technician I've had is special, though Lucy and Catie are exceptional. They do more then provide a service or treatment, they heal. They read your body and provide exactly what you need as they explain what they are doing and also give tips about other things you could do to help your back, neck, stress, lack of sleep, whatever your issue at the time. I say to them every time I go, how I feel for those that do not believe in massage or other treatments as an essential key to a healthy life. This place makes you believe that taking care of yourself is important. The ambience is more spa-like then gym, you get a robe and slippers and they bring you herbal tea as you wait. The treatment rooms are lovely and immediately help you to relax with calming piped in music and candles as well as water fountains. The tables often have heated water pillows, yummy blankets and comfy bolsters. All the details that make the experience that much better. The products they use are only the best, the essential oils lull you to sleep. I am happy for you if you decide to go, you will love it! Pros: the staff is the best, the treatments are unique and well done Cons: none that I have seen more

Hidden Gem! 10/21/2007

I have been getting facials at the Spa at the Mount Auburn Club for several years. I have had terrible issues with my skin and am happy to report that after switching my skin care routine to the fabulous DERMALOGICA I am once again happy to look in the mirror! More importantly though I am truly impressed with the staff at this spa, their technicians are not only knowledgeable but are so friendly it is almost hard to believe. The spa itself is easily a resort quality spa with beautiful treatment rooms and a private deck! I have never been less than thrilled with any experience I have had at The Spa at the Mount Auburn Club and highly recommend it to everyone! Pros: Free parking, relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff...what more could you want? more

Great Hands 10/12/2007

I've had massages from numerous different massage therapists at the Mt. Auburn club spa. They all work wonders! Catie is fantastic, no matter what you're looking for, but she has an intuitive sense of where your back, legs, etc. need extra attention. You can use the spa facilities like the steam room, showers, etc. which are an added plus. They even have a cafe for you to get a health bite after your appt. I make a morning out of it and come home competely relaxed. Call now! Pros: parking is easy and free Cons: Mt. Auburn club members can be a pain in the locker room, etc. Not very friendly. more

Best massage I've ever had! And amazing spa services, too 10/7/2007

I have been going to the Spa at the Mt. Auburn Club in Watertown for six years. The facials, massages, pedicures, etc are all top-notch. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and the atmosphere is great. It's easy to get to off of Memorial Drive and there's always plenty of parking. I've recommended several friends there and all of them have become regulars. I can't recommend it highly enough!! Pros: Experienced staff, warm and friendly atmosphere more

Spa with incredible customer service 5/25/2007

I have been going to the Spa at the Mount Auburn Club (formerly Sage Spa) for several months now and I have never had a bad expirience. The entire staff is lovely and welcoming and all the services are spectacular. I went in last week after a long day of meetings and child wrangling but the second I walked the door of the spa I felt taken care of. They had me change into a robe and someone brought me tea. After my massage (which was wonderful!) I just sat in their relaxation area for awhile. My massage therapist brought me a blanket since it was a cold rainy day and I think I fell asleep for a few minutes. No one was rushing me out of there and I really felt comfortable. I highly recommend it! This is the place to go to unwind and relax. I feel way more comfortable here than at some of the more "chic" places downtown. There is also a couple of free parking lots at the site and for an extra $10 you can use the health club when you have a spa appointment. Pros: Parking, Great Service, Private pedicure room Cons: Not that well known more
