The Soap Opera

The Soap Opera has been around for more than 23 years that I am aware of. I love the wide selection of oils that you can mix together to create your own scent. I purchased pine oil here to keep the cat away from my plants and it worked. There are just an unbelievable amount of lotions and soaps to choose from. Great place to find a unique item and not the run of the mill. more

Now, don't get the wrong impression from my title...THE SOAP OPERA isn't a new business in town as a matter of fact though i don't the exact time span, THE SOAP OPERA is pretty much a staple of the downtown pedestrian mall close to campus. Filled with lotions, creams, jels, soaps and more from all around the world, you have as many choices here as you have imagination....in other words the options are limitless! Now I like this place not only because I have sensitive skin and have to watch additives but also because my son is very allergic to certain scents which I can identify thus leaving them OUT of my purchases here......so many to think about and too many to list. The prices are comparable to their "department store" sister, but here you feel as if you are actually coming out the door with something just for you instead of something ten million other woman are purchasing right off the shelf! Check this out the next time you are wandering around downtown Iowa city....it is a shop well worth checking out....and well worth spending $ in too! more

The store has its own line of scent-free lotions, that you can add whatever fragrance you want to for a custom made treat.
