The Seafarer

You will not believe the offerings at this family-style seafood restaurant. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) from seafood, ribs, pulled pork BBQ, Greek specialties, wings and South 21 Fare is exceptional. The staff are courteous and the owner is a genuine person out greeting guests in the dining room. This is one of our favorite places in all of Charlotte. more

Had not eaten at the seararer for a few years. My wife and I recently tried the seafarer and had a very good experience. My wife had a seafood platter and I had the whole flounder. I love flounder but don't recommend the fried flounder as the filets were very small. They do have a good white fish that you can order on the platter that is very good. I love oysters so I asked about their oysters and they brought me a sample! On our next trip I got the fried platter with Catfish, oysters, scallops, and shrimp. Everything was very good but the oysters vere cooked crispy. I let the lady know when we left that the oysters were too well done for my taste and she gave me a complimentary order of lightly fried oysters to go. The motto here: If something is not right give the manager a chance to make it right. Except for the flounder I actually think the food quality here has improved recently. Pros: Good food recently. It's too bad the previous couple didn't just talk to the manager about this waitress, as he would have done backflips to have tried to make things right for you. Trust me, a waitress of that sort would not last long at the Seafarer. My husband and I eat here all the time. It's one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants, with very reasonable prices for the huge servings you get. The last time I was there, as usual, I ordered the catfish. After having stuffed myself to the gills (pun intended!), I still had SEVEN catfish left on my plate, as well as a nice pile of fried squash that just melts in your mouth. Every visit we have seen the manager going around to every table, making sure that everyone's dining experience is as excellent as it can be. The waitresses couldn't be more friendly, and we always leave promising to be back. This is one of the two best fish camps in the area! Pros: Huge amounts of delicious food, friendly staff and efficient service. Cons: I'm always way to full when I leave there! :) more

My wife and I went for dinner last night and the service was very poor. Our server was very rude. I can not forget her name was Angel because I remember thinking she was the exact opposite. She had a very bad attitude the whole night. After we had ordered our food my wife went to the restroom. When she returned to the table she was mortified. She mentioned to me that our waitress had been in the restroom at the same time. Aside from hearing her talking very innapropriately on her cell phone using very detailed sexual vocabulary, when she finished using the restroom and my wife heard her flush, she walked out of the stall, right past where my wife was standing and did not wash her hands. I thought at first that maybe she did not actually use the restroom although my wife clearly mentioned that she ""heard"" her doing her duty. To make matters worse I myself watched her as she came from the kitchen at one point later in the evening and she clearly was scratching her groin area again not washing her hands. I will never eat at the Seafarer again. I feel this is absolutely disgusting and would not recommend eating at a place where management does not enforce good hygeine. This is how people get very sick. I plan to leave this review on every site regarding this restaurant to prevent the potentially serious illness that could result because of her lack of hand washing. more
