The Retreat

I am currently living in The Retreat apartment complex and need to strongly advise those of you out there that like air conditioning not to come live in these apartments. As of writing this review I am sitting in my apartment which is over 90 degrees (the thermostat stops at 90 and it is all the way there), and have been running the A/C full blast for 2 hours. I would be less upset if this was the first time this had happened but unfortunately it isn't. Everytime this happens we are told to call the "24 hour maintenance department" that always responds the following day when the office opens making us suffer through the night at 100 degrees. I would try to just move out but I guess it is written in our contract that we basically have to deal with any utilities being shut off even without our permission. Again, if you enjoy your comfort in 100 degree weather use this apartment as a last resort. more

I just moved in and was really impressedwith the apartments and the staff. The complex is very clean and they seem to go out of there way to keep the same people around. The maintenance staff jump to get stuff fixed or replaced.The only downside is that the complex is not in a great neigborhood but it is centrally located. PROS: Great people CONS: Not so great a neigborhood but centrally located more

I lived there for only 5 months. My main concern is the price, is too high for me and the area is not that safe, eventhough it is gated, but everybody knows the gate code. So, what's the point! .The neighborhoods from next door apartment are ghetto people. more
