After, dinner out at The Ranch at Las Colinas I can officially say "" now, I'm Texanized!"" This resturant is all about Texas! The decor, the ambiance, the food, down to the wine. Which by the way, bottles are half priced on Saturday nights. Old fashion milk bottles are filled with ice cold water and poured tableside for you. I don't know if it was because it was from a glass milk bottle or if that I just came in from the 100 degree Texas weather but I found it very cool and refreshing. Everything in the resturant was from Texas, made in house and from scratch, everything on the menu- ingredients and all was from Texas. When was the last time you ate somwhere and your waitress could tell you where the bell peppers in your appetitizer came from? Ours was from Stephenville, TX we had the sausage, with argula and bell peppers cheese pizza appetitizer. It was delicouis!! Would've been content with just that and a bottle of wine.\r
But when in Texas....so I decided to be adventerous and stay true to the experience and ordered the peppercorn encrusted grilled wild boar chops, the chef recommends medium rare. To my surprise, wild boar did not taste that wild. I was expecting alot more gamie but did not mind at all to be proven wrong. The meat was very lean. Served with the wild boar chops was the oh so yummy sweat and savory and of course rich with butter sweet potatoes. I indulged since the meat was lean. Good balance, what more can I say!
