We went to Sauvie Island last weekend to get our pumpkins. We had so much fun! We went through the Portlandia Corn Maze, then took the hay ride to the pumpkin patch. There weren't any lines - probably due to going end of September rather than closer to Halloween. more

BEST Pumpkin Patch Around 9/17/2011

The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island is by far the best pumpkin patch around. I have been going here since I was a child, and now bring my children here. I know this must be the same for many others, because it has become more and more popular over the years. Yes it does get very crowed on the weekends, but if you want to avoid the crowds go early; Sunday mornings are the best time to go. They have great u-pick and ready picked produce, excellent customer service, and everything is very clean. The corn maize has always been a very challenging course and worth the money. If you want to find the perfect pumpkin, enjoy a ride on a cow train, pick beautiful flowers, browse great produce, see a barn full of farm animals, and enjoy some great food come out to the original pumpkin patch it is well worth the drive :) more

""What a Joke"" 10/26/2010

This Place is out of control! The lines to get into the corn maze was ridiculous. We drove from up North of Washington on a Fri night just to get Pumpkins and go threw the maze. When we walked in the lines were as if we were at Disneyland waiting to get on a ride on a Holliday weekend .I would not recommend going on a Weekend night unless you want the experience to be just like showing up at a County fair (Carnival) with nothing but Teenages that are rude and obnoctious! FYI it's a Pumpkin Patch Not ment for Booty shorts and High Heel attire. Need I mention the teenagers who were drinking alcohol in their cars. I won't be going back ever! I will be staying closer to home where a Pumpkin Patch is just what it is supose to be fun for the whole family! more

Field of Screams? Don't bother. 10/18/2009

The Pumpkin Patch itself is a cute place to bring kids during the day to enjoy a nice October evening, but if you're considering to stay until the evening to go into the Field of Screams, I really wouldn't recommend it. We waited in line for over an hour and had paid $10 so I really expected to be scared out of my mind. Did not happen. First of all the people in the line in front of us were obnoxious, loud, and practically humping each other, like some high school musical orgy. Seriously, had they never been in public before tonight? But then we finally got in the maze and though the idea was a good one (get clueless people lost in a spooky dark maze) it lost its charm within the first ten minutes. The scarers inside had some cool costumes, but it was as if they weren't even trying! Come on guys, is your only trick to jump out and say Bah! and hiss at us? Sorry, that's just not scary! It was a little startling the first five times, but after that, you could predict exactly where people were going to jump out at you next. And then this Big Finish that we were expecting just never happen. It petered out and all the scarers seemed to have left to go home, as if it was past their bedtime and had clocked out for the night with people still in the maze! What the Funk? Not cool, Field of Screams. I almost asked for my ten dollars back, so I could have gone to a theater pub to watch Harry Potter and drink a couple pints of Hammerhead. That would have been a much better use of my night. Pros: Kind of spooky in the corn field at night. Cons: Long wait; high price; the scarers weren't even trying more

Fantastic Working Farm 10/3/2009

Love going here, and have been for 15+ years with my children, bf, and nephew. From May to Nov. you can't beat this place for fun, fruit and veggies. Pros: Great Produce more

Too crowded - ruined our whole night! 10/27/2007

I was there with about 10 people last night...we paid our money for the haunted maze and we were told that the wait would be ""1 hour."" We thought this was excessive, but decided to do it anyway because we had kids with us and they really wanted to go in. Pros: The idea is neat and it's spooky outside at night Cons: You can't get in unless you wait for hours on end more

Haunted Maize (it's really spelled like that) cool, but too short for the 2 hour wait in line 10/13/2007

First off, Sauvie Island is amazing and the variety of fresh produce is well worth the short drive. HOWEVER, when people say that it is crowded in October, that is a complete understatement. We got out there to go to the Haunted Maize at around 7:30 p.m. As we turned off 30 to go over the bridge onto Sauvie Island, I wanted to throw the car into reverse and forget the whole idea. All I could see were miles and miles of backed up cars waiting to leave. As far as the eye could see, were headlights. When we got to the Haunted Maize, the line was backed up over an hour just to get to the gate. At the gate we were told it was was another 40-60 minute wait to get to the entrance. We bought our tickets at 7:45 and we made it to the actual entrance at 11:05. We were out at 11:25. It was spooky and fun inside but way too short. Pros: Nice variety, many things to do, two spooky mazes, organized crowd control Cons: Ridiculous crowds, long, long lines (think Disneyland during the busiest day of the year) more

Best Place to Go On Sauvie Island 9/13/2005

The Pumpkin Patch is the place we like to stop and get a great burger, corn, or cobbler on the way from the beach in the summer. We also attend the MAiZE every year and get totally lost! The kids enjoy the animals in the big red animal barn and they love the cow train on the weekends! We also like the U-pick fruit and veggies as well as the beautiful flowers. They truely have it all at this farm. Recommended to visit often. Pros: friendly, close in, variety Cons: crowded in October more
