This has by far been the worst place I have lived in my life. Value is absolutely terrible for what you will pay. We also read all the reviews and brushed them off...big mistake. Do not even waste your time looking at this building. Terrible place for working people, adults or children. The only demographic this apartment building is suited for is college students (filled with Santa Monica community college students and foreigners).
We have lost countless nights of sleep, our dog was attacked in the dog park, and it takes at least 3 calls or emails at the least to get any type of maintenance response on anything that needs attention(and they are not available at non-leasing office hours). Maintenance is absolutely terrible and everything is constantly broken due the community college students...even with a new management team put in place in January! They have made many promises, but do not make good on any of them. Our security door to the building has been broken for 3 weeks (for the 3rd time), a leasing agent saw it for herself and even took the broken door handle back to the office, and nothing has been done to fix it (so anyone can walk right in). An apartment 3 doors down just had it's door kicked in and broken into last week. Security admits they are understaffed, as having 1 security guard on site is not enough to handle the biggest apartment building in Santa Monica. The building also leases to Section 8 residents, as it lost a lawsuit recently and must increase the ratio. Apartment building leasing agent (Kevin) also admitted they are overwhelmed with understaffing and cannot handle maintenance requests in a timely manner. The walls are concrete, so management staff will tell you that you ""cannnot hear anything else around you""...this is a lie... the apartment above you, you can hear everything. Our upstairs tenats constantly blast their music, blair their t.v. all night until 4 a.m. so loud that we can hear exactly what they are watching, and take over the pool, hottub, and grill area. All the amenities that look so inviting about the apartment building are constantly unusable due to being overrun by college students and their friends (they have a weekly Friday night party, blaring music, yelling and screaming all night in the pool area and then from their balconies). Calling the police with noise complaints does nothing, as they do not cite anyone no matter how many times they are called. This past Monday night (Tuesday morning) I woke up to screaming from outside at 4 a.m. (everything amplifies and echos in the pool area). This has been the most stressful, uncomfortable 4 months of our lives (we have a 2 bedroom apartment).
