The manager NEVER leaves the office to see what's going on. She does not live on site and seems very removed from the issues. The Maintenance Supervisor can be found sitting around smoking cigarettes & drinking coffee most of the time. He gives practically all the hard work to Miguel, the Maintenance Tech. Most of the residents are senior citizens and are afraid to complain or sign a petition out of fear of retaliation by management. The wooden railing throughout this complex is rotted and falling apart. It is very dangerous to lean on this railing because it is sooo unstable! Unfortunately, the management staff receives bonuses for not spending the allotted maintenance monies, which has created an incentive for NOT replacing things such as the railing. In addition, the kitchen and bathroom cabinetry is falling apart and they will not replace them either. The elevator carpeting has a horrible pet odor and it does not get cleaned regularly in spite of repeated requests. Only one of the new washers installed in the laundry room was placed on a platform - all the others are very difficult for the senior residents to access, because these short washers are all the way down to the ground. No one cared enough to insure all the washers were installed properly. Apathy doesn't even begin to describe what is going on here. The maintenance tech is very hard-working and has a great attitude in spite of the way he is treated by his supervisor. He is our saving grace in this community. We have heard that many Section 8 residents are moving in here now and that perhaps this causes the management not to have to worry about losing current tenants. The county assessor's office does not have updated information on the owners' names, so the owners are anonymous, for now. The management company is CORRUPT and many residents who have been here a long time say that this complex barely resembles the kind of place it used to be and they are becoming very concerned.
