I sampled a local favorite, The Pizza Joint, for the first time. It's not that I haven't wanted to before, it's just the place is always packed with locals. The Pizza Joint had been shut down for awhile for Lowe's to replace their parking lot with a paved driveway to their own store... However, they are back in business--with a shiney new neon sign and all!
The restaurant has a family feel to it combined with a bar and pub feel. It's a fairly unique environment; huge saltwater fish tank and lots of beer signs... The pizza is absolutely huge. Come hungry and prepare to take some home. My family couldn't figure out why the booth was so large until the brought out the food. The crust on an average slice is about 6" wide!
If you are up for something a little different, give the fried ravioli a try. We fought over the last pieces and they can be a great appetizer or meal.
