The Other Place

The plastic cups are a joke, sure you get to keep them. But what's the point? It makes the drinks taste like plastic. The food sucks, I don't care what other reviews say. Everything I have tried to eat there has tasted like it came straight out of a freezer. I like the environment tho, aside from 2 times ago when I was there and it was raining out and the ceiling was leaking RIGHT next to the bar, and by leak I mean water was running through the roof like a garden hose was half turned on. I like how they say they are an Iowa bar, yet if any MO or KS team is playing that game takes priority over IA, which is fine. But don't call yourself an Iowa bar then. All and all I go there from time to time just because I get sick of tanners and johnnys. All 3 really are the same place. Also, if you are a smoker or want to sit outside. They have like 4-5 little tiny tables on a patio on the side of the building that is basically in Taco Bell's parking lot, pretty lame. more

The Other Place Restaurant Review Have you ever been to a place where you can play games while you eat? Well you can play games while you eat at The Other Place. The Other Place is a great family eating establishment because they have lots of TV’s, games while you eat, and awesome pizza. First of all, you should go there because they have lots of TV’s. The TV’s there are big. They are also everywhere in sight. Another thing is you can watch anything from sports to sitcoms on these TV’s. Once I watched the Chiefs on the big screen. It’s nice to have so many TV’s with everything on them. Next, they have games while you eat. One of my favorite things they have is the Playmaker. You can play trivia, poker, and even more fun games! I remember once I beat a bunch of adults at the trivia. I love trivia. Also, they have awesome pizza. When you take a bite you taste cheesy greatness. They have good pizza deals too. I also love their toppings. I went there and had there great pizza. I love a place with good pizza. In conclusion, you should go to The Other Place for lots of TV’s, games while you eat, and awesome pizza. There is so much to do because it’s such a cool place. They also have fairly clean bathrooms, and short waits to get in if any! So why haven’t you gone to The Other Place yet? more

When asked about great restaurants to eat in around the Shawnee area, I always suggest the Other Place in Olathe. As expected, I usually get the reply "What other place?" I then proceed to tell them it's a restaurant. I first discovered the Other Place when my parents took my brother and I out to dinner their one night, just randomly. At first I was a bit skeptical, as I was a bit young and had never been to a sports bar. (I know...kinda sad isn't it?) But I enjoyed myself greatly. I'd like to tell you the food is the best part, but it's not. The food is really good though. They have great pizza! (I suggest the taco pizza.) Or if you're more like me, I usually get chicken fingers and fries, because they have really good seasoned fries. But, moving on. The best part of the Other Place is the entertainment. They have over 20 TV's plus more, I just haven't had time to count them all. They usually have sports games on them, or races. But on some of the TV's they have a game network called Buzztime. You might have heard of it. On there you can play trivia games. Some nights, such a race nights, they even have race theme trivia where you can win money. If you're not a trivia kind of person, like my brother, they have Texas Hold 'Em. Even though he is only 12, he seems to have the best luck in the world and usually beats the guys at the bar in poker. See? I told you it was awesome!! I would keep rambling on, but you don't want to hear it, and I believe we may be going out to eat there soon anyways. Peace out! ^_^ more

Tired of your typical bar scene? Check out The Other Place. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and the food and drinks are delicious. It's a pretty well lit building (important for those of you who don't want to wake up with a "You don't look like the girl I brought home last night, so why are you in my bed." ordeal) Most of all, the people are really friendly. Everyone there is having a good time, grabbing drinks with the friends and watching the game.You can't beat that. more

The Other Place is a great place to hang out and watch some sports on their 50 tvs! It is also has great food including hamburgers, steak, and much, much more. The Other Place is also a great place for the whole family. The prices are also very good, too. more
