PAPA SLOWS - WORST SERVICE I'VE EVER SEEN!- ordered pizzas for my daughter's B-DAY party and delivery took OVER TWO HOURS!!! After first call they claimed it was enroute, 2nd call they claimed it was enroute, third call it was for pick-up!! They originally took my address and phone number and I clearly told them delivery, which they had now denied. KIM THE CARRY-OUT MANGER was very rude and never apoligized. AND DIND'T GIVE US ANYTHING OFF ON PIZZA!. My brother's family had to leave because of another committment and left starving! The other kids were starving and had to take pizzas! They say if you starve them, they'll eat anything! The pizza was not very good. below average and luke warm! I will never again step foot in or call PAPA SLOWS!!! That's the name my nephew called them while waiting to eat! Which he never did! Thx for the fond memories for my daughter's B-DAY! more

As part of a celebration for our family, I made a reservation at Papa Joe's in Oak Lawn for a party of 20 people. The reservation was made one week ahead. We were seated right away, but then experienced nothing but waiting - and waiting - and more waiting, as the servers seemed to take care of every other patron in Oak Lawn except for us. We waited 90 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did, most of it was overdone. My husband had the Lake Perch special which was dried out. The garlic break appetizer that he ordered took 30 minutes to get to the table. For the prices charged, this restaurant is no bargain at all. Most of the people who had come for this dinner had driven all day from out of state. I was embarrassed at the horrible service we received. The children in the group were so tired that their parents couldn't even eat their own dinner - they had to take care of restless tired children, who also had waited over 90 minutes for simple dishes such as spaghetti and chicken fingers. I will never darken the door of this establishment again. It's a wonder they stay in business. more

4 out of 10 times I ordered pizza and the wrong ingredients were in it. I'm not a hard person to please; mistakes happen. However, being told that I have to either bring the pizza back or have it picked up so they can charge me full price for the right pizza is unacceptable. I love this place. The reviews below are bogus. They have great Lasagna and most any Italian dish is delicious. Here is the catch....GET THE RIBS...you would think they were a rib house at some point. They are sooooo good. The service is ""old school"" warm and friendly just as the feel of the restaurant. This is a old neighborhood joint in every way. The guy below says go to Leona's...I wonder if they gave him a raise for that review? You can not even compare Papa Joe's to Leona's. After debating several Italian restaurants last night, my family decided to visit Papa Joe's in Oak Lawn. It had been a while since we've visited and decided it was time to go back. Pros: Appetizer, salad, bread Cons: Everything else more

When my group first showed up, we decided to order appetizers. We ordered bruschetta, which was $6 for three dinky pieces. There were ants in our bruschetta. There was nothing special about the iceberg lettuce salad, soup or bread. I ordered chicken tetrazzini, and the chicken was overcooked and dry. The bathrooms were really dirty. On the plus side, our waitress and the bartender were extremely kind and polite, but that couldn't save this sinking ship of a restaurant. At Papa Joe's, you will find the best deep dish pizza in all of Oak Lawn. Whenever I move, finding the best local pizza is imperative. I stopped looking when I got to Papa Joe's. The unusual factor is that no matter what topping is on the pizza, it will be cooked as close to ""al dente"" as that topping can get. The sauce is full of chunks of real tomato, the cheese is thick, and the crust is superb. A better pizza can not be had in this area. more

Italian salad was gigantic and loaded with meats, very very good. The wings were as good, if not better than, hooters. more

Every time I return home I look forward to a pizza from Papa Joe's. The sausage and mushroom is great and I trulyy miss the food during my travels in the military. more
