I have no choice that when I took my car , Jourden was the nearest shop at where i currently. I guess I was in a hurry. Anyway to make the story short, my experience with them is not pleasing which advised me services not needed to fix the problem on my car. If your car needs mechanical repair, please ask for referral or shop experience from friends than relying on any reviews here which could be misleading. more

Jourden's Auto Thank you 9/22/2009

I recently took my car into Jourdens for regular maintenance. Everyone there was so nice. The mechanic made me aware of issues that needed to be addressed and even showed them to me. I appreciate their honestly in telling me what needed to be done soon or what I could hold off on for a time. And it helped out that they also gave me a student discount and a ride to campus so I could get to work. more

Jourden's broke my car, and then charged me for it. 8/15/2009

I brought my older model car into Jourden's for an oil change and their mechanic talked me into repairing something else. I prorbably should have talked to my regular mechanic first (he quoted me a much lower price for the same job). \r \r In addition to the initial cost quoted for the repair, I recieved a call at 5:30pm that the mechanic had damaged my car in the process of the repair and I would be required to pay for an additional repair. I had not prepared to lose my vehicle, certainly not for an extra day and I really had to stretch my finances to cover the mechanic's mistake. \r \r I will not be trusting my vehicle to this shop again, not even for a quick oil change. more

15 years of satisfaction 9/5/2008

ok - I'm generally never satisfied with work on my car ...so its all relative...but I'm on my 4th car in 18 years...and Jourden's has been able to handle everything. They even talked me into buying a new car when I wanted to spend thousands upgrading a car that is no longer produced! I took that new car to the dealer a few times...which reminded me why I liked Jourden's so much (e.g., real people with personal concerns for customer issues...and expertise that keeps up with the new technology). ps Most people don't want to find used parts in their car after service (they always provide them if you ask). more

I have known Bob for at least 10 years and first took a car of mine to him earlier this year. I was impressed with the service and the size of the shop, it was a lot larger than I imagined.\r Jourdens did great job and my 1989 Honda Accord goes back to them tomorrow for some more work.\r I do like to wrench myself, but the convenience of having Bob live on the same lake as me and pick my car up is worth the money to get the job done without me having to fight with jack stands.\r I have other friends who have used Bob and been more than satisfied. more

Review of Jourdens' Automotive 1/23/2006

Jourdens' Automotive on State Street in Ann Arbor is a great auto shop. They give discounts to students and seniors, and always are so helpful with my car problems. I don't take my car anywhere else anymore. Of all my friends who I told about Jourdens', only one of them doesn't take their car there anymore, and it's because they don't have one anymore! :) They have like 30+ years of experience and it shows. Jourdens' is a family-run business, and is well-deserving of loyal customers like myself. PROS: experience, swiftness of repair, courtesy CONS: more

I love Jourden's!! 1/23/2006

As an Ann Arbor resident, I have taken my car to a few places, but none have performed to my satisfaction the way Jourden's has. Jourden's has competent staff, who have always been friendly to me, and have never assumed I was ignorant because I am a woman. I have always been given excellent service, at a reasonable rate. I feel respected there, and find myself raving about Jourden's whenever someone mentions that his/ her car needs fixing. PROS: Excellent service, competent staff, respectful treatment CONS: (none) more

the service is OK 10/7/2005

the service is quick. YOu don't have to make any appointment. However, the service there is just normal. if you want to do a quick oil change, you can go, but other than that, I won't recommend it to you. The parts there is higher price than other place. also the labor is cheaper. That is even then. So, if you have major maintance, you have to go to other place. more

Quick service, but so-so. 9/2/2005

I used to take my 1986 Pontiac LE here, mostly because it was the only place that was within walking distance of home for me. I got the distinct impression that I was getting jerked around, but I couldn't prove it as I NEVER received parts back. They were a bit on the pricey side as far as labor/installation costs. Would I go here again? If I were in a pinch, yes. If I had time, I'd go elsewhere. more
