Ugh. \r

Location location location. It's right on the corner of main st, where the ""downtown"" area of chatham starts. Easy to walk/bike to beaches (about 1mile). It's also clean and well kept--but beware, the window air conditioners barely keep the room cool.\r

We stayed here in June 2008 and we wished we had jumped ship and stayed with our friends at one of the other inns. Judy, the woman who owns this place is quite rude. First her husband told us before we came down that there was nobody occupying our room so early check would be fine. We got there 1 hour early and she was all in a huff that we were early. We told her we'd go for a walk and come back. Well we came back 90 mins later, which was now AFTER the posted check-in time, and the room was not ready. She actually rolled her eyes when I asked when the room would be ready. \r

We are not the earliest risers, but we made an effort to come down for breakfast by 9am every day. The first day we came down at 8:45am and Judy said ""cutting it close for breakfast, don't you think"". She then proceeded to ignore us as she chatted up everybody else in the breakfast room. She didn't come and ask for our breakfast order until 9:30am. Which is only a big deal because we made the effort to wake up early on our vacation and she was clearly annoyed that it meant the kitchen would need to remain open a little longer than she wanted.\r

For the rest of our 3 night stay she was curt and snippy. We are in our early 40s and have no kids. We like to travel and enjoy our days & nights, sometimes with, yes, late dinners. We asked Judy at 9pm to recommend a good restaurant and she said ""at this hour you may as well just get a slice of pizza or go to a bar because nobody goes out this late for a real meal"". Thanks alot.\r

We will return to Chatham but NOT to this place.
Pros: location
Cons: rudeness of owners
