Old Barn Self Storage is the BEST in the Nevada City / Grass Valley area. They are not the cheapest, but the are the cleanest, safest, and friendliest. I particularily love the fact that each unit has it's own security system - if someone enters a unit without haveing put in the security code at the gate, an alarm will notify the management. more

It's been really easy to do business with Old Barn Self Storage. Their hours are great. I just like dealing with them -- actually i don't have to deal with them. I just go up there and use the storage locker. I've been using their facility for 2 1/2 years. more

I found the people and facilities at Old Barn Storage to be top-notch. After my parents passed away, I had to store some belongings before I bought my house. What was to be short-term storage lasted over two years. But the staff at Old Barn Storage were great and made dealing with things long distance easy. Although I recently moved my things to my new home, I would recommend them without reservation as a wonderful and safe place to store your belongings. more

The fact that my rent went up $50.00 from one year to the next feels like price gouging. It is going to be a pain to move all of my stuff but that is sadly what I will have to do soon. more

Service has been excellent, although there sometimes is confusion with billing. I am scheduled for auto pay on two units at different times in the month. Sometimes I get a bill in the mail and one time I was informed I was delinquent. I am also unhappy in what I consider an extreme increase in rates (from $191 to $226 = $35 x 2 = $70/mo. x 12 = $840/yr.). As a result, we will soon empty one unit. more

I have no problem referring Old Barn Self Storage - their service is good and we've had a good experience with their storage for business use. But they keep raising their prices, so I might consider going somewhere else. more

I've been storing my stuff at Old Barn Self Storage for almost as long as they've been around. It's been years. They're always accommodating to what I need. When we needed a bigger place we got one, and when we needed a smaller space we got one. They are exceptionally clean and take measures to prevent rodent and insects from getting in. The facility is fenced in and has cameras. You can only get in if you have a pin and that gate is only open long enough for one car to get through. With the last storage unit company I used we lost all our belongings. We went on a trip for two months and had stored everything from our apartment there. When we returned we learned that the manager had sold a bunch of stuff and then left the country. Their customer service is friendly and they answer any questions I have. I haven't had any problems with them at all. The buildings are all metal, there aren't any trees, and it's surrounded by asphalt so I am not worried about my stuff if there's a forest fire. The prices have gone up a few times, whenever they get a new owner, but it's worth being able to hang on to my things. This place has just been wonderful and I've already sent four or five people there. more
