The best Thai food to eat 8/15/2010

If you love Thai food, this is the place (The Mint) to go. The Mint on Oak Lawn deserves its reputation as the best Thai restaurant in Dallas. The atmosphere is great. There are two locations of the Mint. I has been to both of them. One is near 75 central Expwy, called Asian mint which is green. The other is on Oak Lawn, called The Mint, which is blue. I started with the spicy soft-shell crab and it surprisingly came very quickly. The soft shell crab was fantastic. Five stars. – Perfectly crispy. Then I ordered the Pad Thai with a combination of chicken, tofu, and shrimp and the Pad Kee Mow with beef. All the main dishes that I ordered were awesome. The Pad Thai was fantastic. The Pad Kee Mow was great, also. BOTH WERE EXTREMELY DELIOUS. For dessert, we ordered the Green tea ice cream cake. It was so yummy. The services were nice and the owner is friendly. The servers were very attentive about refilling glasses with water, which was nice. The prices were surprisingly inexpensive for the area. I’ve tried many Thai restaurants. Trust me, THIS IS THE BEST ONE IN DALLAS. more

Good...but annoyed 8/11/2010

Been here many times. The food is really good. You will not be disappointed. Word to the wise...hold off ordering the entree until the appetizer arrives. Otherwise, they will both arrive at the same time (common theme with both restaurants).\r \r That being said...really annoyed that The Mint and the Asian Mint are stacking the deck ""The Best of Citysearch"" vote. Seriously, The Mint Asian...is one of ""The Best Italian Food"" nominees. And have 17% of the vote. \r \r I'm calling ""Shenanigans"". more

Great food, decor, and CAKE! 8/9/2010

The Mint is a hole-in-the-wall Asian-food restaurant with great food, a great place to take a date that won't break the bank, a large menu (but bring reading glasses, the type is small and the lighting is subdued). But I go for the cake. Namely, the green-tea cake, a giant slab of somewhat oddly-green colored, luscious dessert, a must-have when I go. I never eat dessert in a restaurant, but I always do here! more

Awesome fried rice 8/7/2010

I love most of the dishes, but my favorite is the fried rice. Delicious! more

You will enjoy the light, healthy fare at The Mint!!! 8/6/2010

We have had many delightful meals at Nikky's other great restaurant, Asian Mint, and were eager to try the Mint on a night out at the Dallas Symphony.\r \r We had some difficulty finding it as we did not have with us the exact address. Later we found that it is on Oak Lawn/Preston Road (whatever ) just north of Fitzhugh/Wycliff ( whatever ) on the east side of the street.\r \r If you see the D Magazine office, you can start looking for a parking place, because you are close.\r \r The meals are light and healthy and the place is immaculate.\r \r The service is always attentive, with your water being refilled frequently, and there being no doubt that your satisfaction is paramount to the wait staff.\r \r We love this place, and it is great for Symphony evenings. more

Our favorite Thai restaurant 8/6/2010

Whenever we have a craving for Thai food and specifically a well-seasoned curry or seabass with ginger we find ourselves at The Mint. Service is professional and fast and the pleasure of the meal continues though review of a more than reasonable check. Delicious, professional and inexpensive. more

Best Thai Food 8/6/2010

I spend most of my time traveling which means many meals at restaurants. Dallas is home and rarely do I go ""out to eat"", when I am here. For my birthday some friends insisted on taking me to ""The Mint"". OMG What a wonderful surprise! The food is better than one would expect and the desserts are heavenly. I usually don't eat ice cream, but after tasting their fresh coconut ice cream we had to order another. My personal favorite is the raspberry creme brulee. Take a friend and treat yourself-you'll be pleased. Blessings, Dr. Michelle Taylor more

Best Dallas Thai- Worth Repeated Visits 8/6/2010

Asian Mint is just great. Eat there as often I can. Appreciate that they will serve their Asian stir vegetables with different menu sauce like ginger. Especially enjoy the menu specials offered monthly-they are so creative and you must try the The Mint Platter-comb of Chicken Satay, Dumplings & Summer Rolls. Service is the best tool more
