For those who have not been to The Melting Pot yet, I suggest going! This restaurant is fondue style for every course(with the exception of the salads) which can be appetizer, main, and dessert. The cheese appetizer fondue was my favorite course of the meal. It was a combo of cheese, bacon, and some type of wine...delicious! I didn't want to go on to the main course because it was so good, however when I did it was also delicious. The service is also superb. The servers are very polite as well as friendly since they are preparing the fondue for awhile at your table. They will strike up a conversation with their customers. I highly recommend The Melting Pot. It is a great setting for a first date, double date, or any occasion because the atmosphere produces a lot of conversation! more

romantic date with fun food! 8/31/2005

The Melting Pot is my favorite restaurant for a romantic date. You get to cozy up over a warm pot to cook your own food, jazzy music is usually playing, and the lights are dim. Large wine selection, and variety of options for cheese appetizer, entree and dessert (if you're not really hungry, just do cheese and chocolate). Fairly expensive, but you get a TON of food for the price. Also has a vegetarian option--most romantic restaurants don't. Really not a place for kids. Also a nice place to stop in for dessert with just a few friends--and then you get to share the calories with more people! more

Unique dining experience 7/27/2005

The Melting Pot can be pricey, but you're paying for the experience as much as the food. The food is good, the atmosphere great, and the service impeccable. Great date restaurant! more

Fondue in Baltimore! 6/16/2005

If you've never been to a fondue restaurant, you have to go! It's a unique concept - you don't see fondue in restaurants (it's not the 70's anymore!). Great restaurant for intimate conversations. Dinner can take 2 hours easily. I recommend the "Fondue For Two." With that, you get a cheese appetizer fondue, salad of your choice and entree. Don't cook in oil - choose the coq au vin. Splurge and order one of the chocolate fondue desserts. Nothing better than warm chocolate and fruit. Dinner isn't cheap, but it's very good and a great atmosphere. This is part of a chain, and this location has only been open a couple of years. Nice decor. more
