Great place for Girls' Night Out 3/3/2010

For those of you in Nor Cal who love fondue (and ugly dresses) The Melting Pot Larkspur has a Girls' Night Out event every third Wednesday of the month. It's such a fun place to go with a couple girlfriends, and the food is AMAZING!!! This Month, the event is 27 Dresses, where everyone wears an old bridesmaid dress. There's a dress contest and an awesome four-course fondue dinner, and it's only $30 a person!!! Last months Girls' Night Out was great, and I can't wait for this one!! I have some really ugly bridesmaid dresses that I finally have a use for!! Definitely give the Melting Pot a try. Pros: Best fondue in town, good martinis, fun events more

Horrible Experience 11/22/2009

I recentely went to the Melting Pot in Larkspur with my husband & another couple to celebrate my 33rd birthday. We were treated like children by the wait staff & overcharged for our horribly weak drinks. I am not going to go into detail about this horrific experience, but just giving anyone who my be on the fence about this restaurant a heads up. Don't bother going. more

Girls' Night Out 7/21/2009

I recently went with my sister for one of their Girls' Night Out events. The dinner was for the nonprofit Dress for Success San Francisco. We were asked to bring accessories to donate, which was a good excuse to clean out my closet. They had a special 4 course menu with $7 cocktails. (Try the Blackberry Margarita!) I've been to a MP in Orange County, which was also great, but the building this MP is in is amazing. Good place for a date! Pros: Good causes more

Delicious food, beautiful atmosphere. 8/30/2007

My husband and I decided to try something new on our way back from the city. We passed the restaurant a few times prior and thought we would give it a try. Boy were we glad we did! Eating fondue was a new experience for the both of us, and we loved it! We thought it was interesting (and intimidating) that we cooked our own food. My husband and I got the Surf and Turf and it was fantastic! (A little nervous with cooking seafood and steak, but we did it fine.) The wine list was very impressive, and I endulged on a few glasses of merlot. We loved the cheese fondue with the bread, veggies and apples before hand. The dinner was so delicious, we decided to splurge on dessert (pricey but worth it). When our server brought out a huge tray of brownies, cheesecake, marshmallows and strawberries we were over the moon! We ordered the milk chocolate for dipping. So wonderful!! I highly recommend this restaurant for a wonderful dinner on a special occasion! Pros: Atmosphere, service, food, wine and dessert! Cons: That I cannot go there tonight. more

First Fondue 11/18/2006

Nice Vibe - soso fondue 10/16/2006

This place is great for a special occasion dinner for a group, or an intimate meal with a boyfriend or girlfriend. Comfy, romantic booths make it intimate no matter where you sit. The food is fairly good, although expensive and not the most traditional french fondue around. I'm a purist, so "Mexican Jalepeno Fondue" was an immediate turn off. But the vibe and interactive dining make up for it. Pros: Ambience, service Cons: Prices, Authenic Cuisine = NO more

For a Romantic and Fun Evening Out.... 8/3/2006

This particular location is my favorite. I've been to the one in Sac but it doesn't have the same ambiance (comfy booths situated inside caves!). The "Big Night Out" dinner is a MUST that you have to splurge on (I think it's $48 per person). This is a very relaxed, well paced, fun, interactive dining experience that lasts for hours - which allows you to drink plenty of wine from their great wine list in the process. For the best time - go when it's foggy or cold out (December through April). It's a great spot for a date and even better for a double date. Pros: Classic Swiss Fondue, Tempura Praws, Chocolate Fondue Cons: Long drive from Walnut Creek :-( more

LARKSPUR'S NEW HOT SPOT 11/11/2005

What a treat! From the lighting to the decor this place is beautiful. The cocktails are amazing, not to mention the fantastic wine list. We sat in "lover's lane"--these cute, private, cozy booths for two in the back. Cheese fondues are prepared by the servers right at your table--it's like having your own personal chef. Everything was fresh, from the veggies to the bread. We had the Big Night Out Package, entree included a perfect portion of lobster, center cut, sirloin, lime and tequilla shrimp and creole chicken. The is the interactive course and we had a blast cooking the meats and trying all the amazing sauces. They save the best for last~decadent chocolate fondue served with fresh fruits, brownies, and cheesecake. Whether its date night, girls night out, or a social gathering with friends this hot spot is perfect. I can't wait to go back. Pros: Good Parking, Fun Staff, Great Ambiance more
