The Melting Pot is an excellent choice for a restaurant, though only if one has the patience and time to sit down for a few hours. The meal is made right in front your, and when i...

I dont agree that the Melting Pot is all that it is cracked up to be. There is nothing romantic about $100 boiled meat! To top it off they close you up in a melting pot of your ow...

Customer Service Training Needed! 9/19/2002

This used to be a very nice place to dine. They have forgotten about customer service and quality food. The last time I ate there will most likely be my last as they have failed now a few times in providing the level of service you would expect from a place like this. I now feel rushed when I go there, and left hanging quite often. The food is not served in a timely manor and when you do get your food you are rushed through it. When the waiter did actually show up he never returned with my requests. The staff and management could use some customer service training. Pros: Quiet Cons: Poor Food Quaility, Expensive, Poor Service more

pissed off 9/6/2002

I could have spent my $120+ at any other restaurant in town and got better food and especially service. My wife took me there for my birthday, she even order the birthday bouquet which was kinda of cheesy (no pun). The wait was longer than anticipated for our table even though we had reservations (20 mins). However the clincher was the 45 min wait between dinner and dessert. After expressing my displeasure, the waitress said that her other customers had to wait longer than us. I complained to the manager, but instead of making the evening ""whole"", she waived $30 off the bill.... how cheap and insulting! Don't waste your time and money there are much better places in Phoenix. Cons: Service, Attitude, Price more

Romantic, Private, An Experience 8/21/2002

The Melting Pot offers an experience. This is a very romantic setting. Slightly higher priced than some places, but worth it for special occasions. Offers a private atmosphere. Pros: Romantic Cons: Expensive more

Over priced! 8/20/2002

Lots of fun to ""play"" with your food. Plenty of time to talk with your dining partners. But a bit over-priced. more

Fondo-it! 8/18/2002

I guess you'd classify me as a huge Melting Pot fan, since I've been to at least five of their locations around the country. All I can say is that dining there is something everyone should experience at least once. Make sure you're hungry when you go, especially if you go for the full meal for two option. You'll start out by picking a cheese fondue (I love the traditional), then a salad (the California), then an entree. Entrees usually include a variety of seafood, poultry, and other meats, but they also have a great vegetarian option. For the cooking style, go with the oil if you like batter-dipped foods. If you like it lighter, the coq au vin is the way to go! Top it off with one of their incredible fondue desserts, and you'll be hooked! more

Melting hot 8/10/2002

I loved the ""lover's lane""! My husband were able have private time alone since they close the curtains for you. The seats we got were areound a small table and were like a couch. So it was very ""cozy"". The food was fun. I was shocked when i found out you had to cook it yourself, but it was very filling and the staff was really nice. Pros: exstensive wine list, private rooms, fulfilling Cons: expensive, not good for kids more

Cheese Stinks!!! 8/7/2002

If you like fondue go for it, but it went out with my grandma. Good martini selection! Pricey and there's by far better places Phoenix / Scottsdale. Food isn't very good. I can boil food on my stove and stuff raw meat. My vote right down the street with better martini's, better atmosphere, same price in the end... Barcelona. You won't be dispointed. Pros: fondue Cons: fondue, booths, price! ouch! more

Privacy and Romance 7/31/2002

We love the table for two that is curtained off. I have never enjoyed a more romantic dinner! Pros: Intamite Cons: Pricey more

Melts in your mouth not in your hands 7/29/2002

The Melting Pot is a great place. I first time I was there for dinner, my husband and I were there for 3 hours. It is a great first date place. Romantic, charming. The wait staff is great. Always there to help out when you look perplexed about something. I love this place. Please add one to the west side of town........ Pros: tasty, exciting, romantic more

curtain bliss 7/29/2002

The melting pot has absolutely delicious food and great presentation, the executive chef here works hard. It is a nice atmosphere where you and a loved one can talk and share a romantic evening yet at the same time dressing up is not a must here. Be careful though, just adding a bottle of wine and cause your bill to easily reach $200. Dessert is a must here, you are crazy not to order it! For extra romance request the table with the curtain Pros: excellent dessert more

Romantic Getaway 7/28/2002

Going to the Melting Pot is like stepping into a romantic new world. The lights are so dark and dim and you are secluded to your own booth, some booths even have a curtain for extra privacy. Romantic extras are even available, such as having beautiful freshly cut roses in a vase waiting for your arrival (my favorite). Pros: Desserts, Extremely Romantic, Girls LOVE it Cons: Expensive more

Romance in the fondue 7/26/2002

I love this place, my partner and I have been going to this place ever since we got married four years ago. Not only is the food spectacular, but the people and the atmosphere is wonderful. Very romantic, we always go on our wedding anniversary. It's a very special place for us, romance is always in the air there! Pros: Very Intimate, Comfortable, Great feeling Cons: Little pricey, limited hours more

Be it an anniversary, birthday, engagement or a let's make up dinner, you can't beat the Melting Pot for that special moment. From the ambiance to the service you'll not get more for your $'s. We've used the Melting Pot for every occasion mentioned above; we've even gone there for that special time away from the stresses of the day. Either way you can't beat the Melting Pot for a good start to a promising night. Pros: privacy, quality of food, service Cons: a little pricey, needs more speicals, no extra food opts more

Excellent 7/26/2002

The Melting Pot was the most romantic dining experience I have had, to date. I took my fiance there as a surprise last year (2001). We felt quite pampered and that our server truly cared about our dining experience. It would be my restaurant of choice for a romantic setting. We were married on August 25th, and plan on going again for our First Anniversary this year, as well. Pros: quiet setting, excellent service, superb cuisine more

Superb Service, Excellent Food 7/25/2002

I've been to The Melting Pot three times now and everytime the service and food is wonderful. I will say this, it is definitely a special occasion place. The prices are a bit high. You do how ever get your monies worth. I would say it is the Most Romantic Place to dine. I would recommend it to everyone. more
