Can't wait until our next visit! 7/9/2011

My daughter and I went in for breakfast a few weeks ago and found The Looking Glass very satisfying. Our coffees were large and delicious. We each ordered a breakfast sandwich and wish we had just shared one as we each had half as left overs (the hubby was grateful but even he shared with a co-worker). The wait staff was very friendly and conversational, sharing the history of The Looking Glass with us and inviting us to view the small garden area in back and the private dining room. It is not the cheapest however the price is not exuberant by any means either. The location, parking, decor, service, product were all satisfying if not exceptional. more

Horrible service! I will not go back. 6/18/2011

My husband and I live close to the Looking Glass. We've been there before to get dessert to go, but never had a chance to dine in until tonight. The food was overall good, but the service was HORRIBLE! Our waitress continually ignored us. She never offered refills (or if they don't offer that even a new drink). She would look blatantly at our glasses and walk away. We were rarely checked on at all. It took a long time to receive our check after eating and get our credit card back. I had hoped this place would be good since we live so close to it, but I don't plan to go back after this. more

Nice Atmosphere and Good Food 1/7/2011

This is different from many places in Clarksville. It was nice to see a place that had personality! We went here for lunch for my birthday. We sat outside and I didnt feel like I was in Clarksville any more! Coming from Austin, TX were every restaurant is unique the Looking Glass felt more like what I am used to. more

I'll pass! 5/5/2010

I recently visited with my fiance. We ordered TWO appetizers ($6 and $9) and an entree. When I got the bill, we were still charged their $2 split plate fee. I asked the waitress about why I was charged the fee even though I ordered TWO appetizers (and the entree I usually order is actually less than the appetizers), her response was only that she completely understood why I would be upset but couldn't do anything about it. But that she could speak to the manager. Pros: quiet Cons: do not care about customers more

Consistently the BEST 6/28/2009

I love this place. My wife and I moved from Charleston South Carolina, a foodie Mecca, with a plethora of culinary delights on every corner. I immediately fell in love with the Looking Glass, an Oasis of culinary delight, in a sea of chain restaurants. The owner is there two to three times every day they are open, and takes the time to visit each table to ensure customers are satisfied. The menu is as diverse as our population, with Steak, Seafood, Chicken, salads, wraps, and a Tortellini dish with a New Orleans flavor that will make you want to hug the Chef. Dining is an elegant experience in an eclectic environment. There's even live Celtic music on the weekends and a desert menu to make even the strongest dieter cheat for one night. Every time I have guest in town, or a visitor at work, there's only one destination that will do. ""The Looking Glass"" Pros: Attentive Staff Excellent food and best Carrot Cake in Town more

THEY LIED! Don't Bother even trying it!! 2/14/2009

I want to say foremost that I was incredibly excited to enter the doors to your restaurant...I had heard wonderful things about the food, atmosphere and the ambiance that has surrounded several of your patrons. I wish that I would have been one of them.\r My girlfriend and I along with our daughter came in for breakfast on Valentines Day. I thought this would be a wonderful way to start out our day. We arrived at about 8 a.m., ordered about 15 minutes later. The coffee was wonderful...our waiter at first glance seemed promising as he attended to us. After waiting another 20 minutes for him to return to take our order our patients where growing thin. At about 9:25 our food got to our table, quick math that is AN HOUR AND A HALF after we ordered our food. I might want to add at this point that we where amongst a table of 4 and another party of 2.\r I watched our food sit at a counter for 10 minutes...explain how in an empty restaurant anything sits for 10 minutes?\r Our food arrives cold, more

Bad food, big prices 6/2/2008

I came there with my mother because I saw the commercial and was instantly intrigued. When we got there, it was pretty much empty and the staff was just sitting around talking to each other. It took them a while to come to my mother and me. Once they did, their menu did not include the food on the commercials. My mother and I ordered and the food was AWFUL and lukewarm and took a long time. I was very disappointed... but even more so when I got the bill. It was over $40, not including appetizers.\r \r Don't bother coming here. There are better places to eat that are cheaper with better food. I would NEVER go there again. more

Good food if you are willing to wait 4/16/2008

The food here is good and definitely different than most dining options in Clarksville. The one consistent drawback is the poor customer service. I have eaten here several times and used their catering services on 2 occasions. The quality of the food and their baked goods is excellent. They have true chefs which is unusual for Clarksville. The presentation of the catered meals was poor and they were late and disorganized on both occasions. more

Slow Service.... out of Bread!!! 4/12/2008

Went for lunch one afternoon, it took over 1 hour to get my food (roast beef wrap) and they were out of bread. I had heard great things about this place but it was not good at all.. the place had an odor of fresh paint and the food itself was nothing to write home about. more

Great Food, and Atmosphere 8/22/2007

This was a great resturant, the food was prepared very nicely. Staff was very friendly, and the atmosphere was very warm. This small cafe/resturant is a great choice if out in the Clarksville area. The Friday night I went they had a live band playing soft celtic music that was just loud enough so you could still have a conversation with the people at your table. The portions are very large. Most of the entres come with 2 sides unless it is a Pasta. Another great aspect of this place is that they have a BYOB policy with a cheap corkage fee. We had 2 bottles of wine for 5 people and it was $2.00 per person. The Looking Glass is a nice change from all the chain resturants in the area. Pros: Great Food, Friendly Staff, and a Cheap Corkage Fee more

yummy! 8/9/2006

First off, this place is very beautiful. A wonderful place for the art lovers out there. Outside is a patio with a pond/waterfall thing going on. It is beautiful! The food and drinks are absolutely delicious. I go during lunch. My favorite food is the marinated chicken pita- delicious! The chips and salsa are home made and are exquisite! Peach iced tea! Mmmmmmmm! It's more of a coffee shop kind of place, but pretty classy. They have specialty breads and desserts like tiramasu- (Olive Garden's tiramasu is dirt compared to this.) It is definitely original compared to the usual suspects in town- Applebee's, Rafferty's, Logan's- Yawn... Pros: beautiful, original, delicious Cons: hmmm, when they first opened there was much more art displayed. more

Out of the way place with good food. 3/5/2006

The Looking Glass was nothing what I expected. I thought it was going to be a ""nice"" restaurant with sit-down booth and all that. Instead it is a small bakery/coffee shop/bar/card shop in an out of the way strip mall. The attention to detail was very nice with forks for all your courses and a plate for the decorative pads of butter. The bread was warm and good, the salad was a spring mix and the portions (at least mine anyway) are huge. I ordered the Seafood Pasta which is penne with salmon and shrimp in a lobster bisque sauce. It's very rich, creamy and kind of cheesy. It has a distinctive seafood flavor which for me is good. Word to the wise - this place is a BYOB - I wanted some wine with my meal but they don't serve it. There is always next time... Pros: Cute, Good food, Attentive owner Cons: No booths, No wine more
