Before you go to Astoria, check the Liberty's calendar. This lovely, historical theater has just been lovingly restored, and has some great events scheduled for Liberty Theater fans to look forward to. Home to the annual Astoria Music Festival in July, the Liberty opened in 1925 as a traditional vaudeville theater. It was turned into a motion-picture theater for some time, then has been under the direction of a group of people who have carefully guided its restoration. The lighting, sound and elegance all add to its charm. A must-see if you travel to Astoria.
