We love the Lawton-Taylor Academy! Our family has been attending for 8 years starting when our oldest son was an infant and when it was Children's Choice and then The Lawton-Taylor Academy. Both of our children were EXTREMELY well prepared for kindergarten. These last 2 year at Lawton-Taylor, in particular, have been wonderful and with the ownership change have seen improvements in facilities, teachers and curriculum. The building, classrooms and playgrounds are clean, pretty and well-kept, the owners, Todd and Michelle, are very personable and accommodating, the director, AnnMarie, is sweet and fun and always willing to help, and the pre-kindergarten teacher, Ms. Kristi, is kind and very knowledgeable. Our son learned so much this year ... it truly was incredible. I'm pretty sure he's ready for 1st grade academically! Their chef, Chris, prepares wonderful and healthy food and I often wanted to stay for lunch. Baseball, soccer and dance are all offered at an additional cost, but very reasonable. Tuition rates are VERY competitive and they offer pro-rating for less than 5 days a week. We've been so happy on so many different levels that it was extremely difficult to leave when our youngest son graduated and started kindergarten earlier this month. We miss it very much and would highly recommend The Lawton-Taylor Academy for your preschool children. more

The owners and staff truly care about providing the best care and education for my daughter. It is great to see that the staff is happy and a cohesive unit. Because of that I enjoy bringing my little girl to LTA and she loves coming to school! more

Good new ownership! 8/16/2011

Our family has been going to this facility since it was a Children's Choice. The new ownership seems to be very positive so far. The new owners are very involved in the day to day operations. Our child is happy to go and it feels good to go to work every day when I know my kiddo is in good hands. more

An Up and Coming Preschool 7/6/2011

This preschool is quickly becoming one of the best. It has only existed under the current owner for less than a year but the quality is obvious. From the personal attention you get from the director and the owner to the fantastic care that the teachers provide for the kids, the whole experience is just wonderful. Add to that a customized curriculum that seems to incorporate the best parts of several established curriculums and you get a top notch preschool. more

Wonderful and Caring Environment 6/20/2011

Wow! I can't say enough about the school, it is a great place for my child to be during the week. It use to be Children's Choice but has since changed owners. The new owner is fantastic. This school is well-rounded. I know as a parent I am very particular who I leave my child with, I feel comfortable dropping my child off everyday. The teachers are alert and educated. They really care about the kids here and I feel that every time I walk in the door to drop off or pick up. If you have concerns you can communicate with the Director or Owner. They are super nice and will talk with you. I know this because I am the mom that worries and they reassure me when needed. The curriculum is great. The food served is healthy. I would recommend this school to anyone! (I have looked into many schools, so trust me, this one is the place I felt like it was a safe environment :-)) more

Don't like the politics sometimes, but it is clean and safe! 8/9/2009

My baby loves her regular teachers. I like them very much as well. However every night when I pick her up, there is someone else watching her, which I'm not comfortable with, since I've never even been introduced. While I understand sometimes places are short handed, I would like to be updated on things like that.\r \r The center director left and the assistant director is now in charge, which isn't working out as well for us, because apparently there wasn't much communication between the two. We were told when my baby started coming part time we would receive a part time rate, but since Ashleigh left, apparently that's not the case anymore, so we pay full time but come part time. \r \r Overall, it's not that I'm worried about her safety or anything, what bothers me is that parents are never informed of the teacher changes, so strangers watch your baby without your consent, and they do not usually provide the 1/3 ratio that they promised us. However, politicis aside, she is in a clean, safe and loving environment, which is definitely the main concern. \r \r Also, this is THE CLEANEST daycare I have ever seen, by far! You would never, ever know there are dirty diapers in that room! Pros: Clean, Friendly teachers, good updates about her day Cons: Not consistant, say one thing and do another. more
