Mr. Barber is a patent attorney registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and an attorney at law, registered to practice in Colorado State. He also has substantial experience working as a patent attorney in the national and international arena, teaching and administration at the SolBridge International School of Business, the Center for Legal Studies and other places. He consults for the Korean Institute for Nuclear Safety, the Korean government's nuclear regulatory arm.
From 2009 into 2011, Mr. Barber took a sabbatical from his law practice and began work as an Associate Professor of Law at SolBridge International College of Business. In 2009 and 2010, Mr. Barber temporarily served as Acting Associate Dean of the College. He also enjoys speaking engagements in various nations.
Mr. Barber earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, 1986, a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies, 1991, and a Juris Doctorate, 1995, from the University of Colorado. He served as a professional researcher for the Space and Flight Laboratory, and as a programmer/analyst for KAMAN Science Corporation in support of the NORAD Space Surveillance Center. A patent agent prior to graduation from law school, he became a patent attorney at the time of his admission to the Colorado Bar.
