The Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts is truly a jewel in downtown Louisville. The modern architecture stands out downtown without being overwhelming. Sculptures fill the lobby and are even seen on the front steps.
Once inside the main theater (Whitney Hall), you are treated to quite a large space. There are three levels of seating and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The acoustics are wonderful, whether you're enjoying the Louisville Orchestra or a visiting Broadway Show.
My only suggestion would be to reserve a box cautiously. It's very fun to sit in these special seats, but depending upon the show you might miss a few things happening far stage right or stage left depending upon your seat.
Students should note that you can often get rush seats for the Orchestra performances at a discounted price just before curtain time.
