Best

my husband & i have been to Bosphorous a couple of times now & both times the food & the service were excellent.....i would highly recommend the adana kebab & the eggplant salad ....

Worst

For those of us who have had REAl Turkish food, this is a disappointment. Not only do they no longer serve Doner Kebab, but the shish kebabs we had were bland, as were the sauces ...

Pros: quality of food, service Cons: none that I can think of !! more

Wonderful!! 3/11/2008

After passing by ""Bosphorus"" many times and wondering what it was all about, my fiance and I finally decided to give it a try. I'm so sorry that we didn't go there sooner!! Our waiter was very friendly and willing to help us and answer any questions we had. The meze platter appetizer is amazing...it comes with an assortment of turkish dips (including hummus and cucumber dip) and warm bread. Both the hummus and the cucumber dip were the best I've ever had ANYWHERE period. The entrees were also wonderful with plenty to take home for later. We finished off with baklava...they aren't stingy with the portions like most places! We look forward to introducing our friends and family to this wonderful place!! Pros: service, price, quality of food Cons: limited seating more

Great food, friendly service 2/17/2008

Think family, not fancy, but the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Although standard middle eastern dishes like hummus, kebobs and baba ghanoush are served, everything has distinct touches and very finished flavors. The kebobs were tender and seasoned perfectly, served with bulghar wheat pilaf (giving the dish a kind of eastern European feel) and salad. The ali nazik, which seems to be a new addition to the menu, was delicious. It's an adana kebob (spicy ground beef and lamb) served with a homemade tomato sauce and a yogurt sauce on chunks of bread. It was refreshing to taste carefully crafted variations on middle eastern classics and I would definitely recommend a visit if you want to experience very high quality fare at a reasonable price. With appetizers and dessert (custard and rice pudding, both delicious) it was $50 for a family of three.\r \r Pros: Delicious, creative food Cons: Small number of tables, get there early. more

Great Turkish Food! 10/9/2007

This place is now known as Bosphorus Restaurant. It is a small restaurant with great customer service and excellent food. We've gone here about 10 times in the past year and each time we come out satisfied with the quality of the food, the price of the food, the amount of food, and the service. The menu has a variety of dishes that are all well prepared. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody! Pros: Great Food, Excellent Prices Cons: Small Indoor Dining Area more

This restaurant is under new management since late spring of 2006. 9/21/2007

I am one of the sons of the owner of Bosphorus Restaurant. This restaurant is no longer called Kebab House. Our restaurant is a family restaurant. Ever since the restaurant is under my father's management, he has kept the menu as is but changed the style of the foods to actual taste of Turkish food. We always receive positive feedbacks and we are open for any kind of feedback. Try out the real taste of Turkish food. more

Delightful food out of the ordinary, with great service. Freshly baked bread out of this world! 5/22/2007

I am very thankful for this restaurant, one of my favorite places in a metropolitan area plagued with yupee chain restaurants and predictably mediocre food. Every time I have eaten here, everything has been exceptionally enjoyable and well presented. It is tasty and fresh, seems homemade and is out of the ordinary. (Be sure and talk with the waiter about the food, and your experience will be even better.) If I have to find a place for a group where the food is good and where we can easily hear one another and enjoy the company, I take them to the Kebab House. I have even had to ask for vegan plates, and their made-to-order offering was by far better than any other area restaurant. The staff remembers what we have had, and is very happy to suggest and to accomodate. Any ehnic restaurant should be judged on what percentage of its customers are of that group, and the Kebab House is consistently a place with lots of happy Turkish clients! And each time I walk out, I am in contented agreement with them. Pros: Prompt seating, friendly service, helpful staff, delicious unusual food more

Average at best 10/30/2004

For those of us who have had REAl Turkish food, this is a disappointment. Not only do they no longer serve Doner Kebab, but the shish kebabs we had were bland, as were the sauces they served. Service was ok, pretty much the same I would expect from any fast food place. The food is mediocre, the price is barely ok and teh ambience is non-existent. more

Average 2/16/2004

Turkish food is one of the most undervalues cuisines in the world. The Kebap house has great service however the food is nothing like Turkish food. The kisir (bulgur style style) was more vinegary than anything else. The meats were overcooked and tough. The meat pita (turkish style pizza) had a horrible smell. Unfortunately, Turkish restaurants do not last long here in NC due to the lack of quality of the food and perhaps the lack of identical ingredients that you can find in Turkey. If you want Turkish food, visit Turkey. In the meantime, I would suggest La Shish or Neomonde. Pros: good parking, good service Cons: , bad food more

very good 8/9/2002

New and different taste can be found with variety of fresh food. My favorites are Iskender Kebab, Kebab House Special and Doner. Greek and Middle East Foods may look like same with Turkish food, but not actually. You should see it and taste it yourself.... more

Great food, low value 8/1/2002

If you want to try real Turkish food, visit The Kebab House. The food it great, but portions are small and the prices are little high for counter service. I didn't find the typical Turkish hospitality and I was disappointed by the absence of real Turkish tea. The Turks are excellent bakers, but the minimal dessert selection forced us to the great bakery 3 doors down. The borek is good and you can enjoy Turkish TV while you dine. Pros: Taste, Authenticity Cons: Value, Hospitality, Desserts more
