Horrible owner 8/15/2012

All that I am going to say is the owner is cheap as hell with her money! And very rude as well. For a daycare owner she sure doesn't like children. Maybe I should reword that, she does like children that are making her money.. She doesn't care for children who don't attend growing room and dont earn her money. She's just a bit**. more

High Standards! 7/12/2012

I hope when people read all the reviews that they realize that no matter where you go, not everyone will be happy. Both of our children attended The Growing Room and I am happy to say, due to the education they received, they are both well ahead of where most are academically! Our son (reading on a college level in the 5th grade) tested into Columbus High and our daughter is at Britt David Magnet. Because of the education my daughter received, she was advanced from kindergarten to first grade within the first month of starting school in another state. The Growing Room has high standards and they do their best to ensure those they put in place to uphold those standards do so! If there is drama in a center, that would be a direct reflection of the director's not holding caregivers accountable. The corporate office has policies and procedures in place, as do all businesses, but it would be impossible for them to be in all of their centers all the time! As a parent, I highly recommend it! more

Use to be good 10/18/2011

I wouldn't go here.It used to be a great center before the changed directors a few times. Way too much drama among staff and directors. They think the parents don't know what is going on, but we do. It is a very unhealthy atmosphere. I was unhappy with the 3 year old class. Lots of yelling and talking down to the kids. Puddle Jumpers is a great place. That is where we go now. more

Very pleased! 1/28/2011

I have 3 children that currently attend this program. My oldest is in the after school program. I have nothing but great things to say about the Growing Room. My son graduated the K4 program and was accepted into a magnet academy after the first testing. He was highly prepared. My two youngest children LOVE their teachers! This is the only place I can leave them, without them crying! All the teachers know the children by first name, they greet the parents upon arrival, parent breakfast is offered, the curriculum is so effective, and in regards to the high prices....if I broke down what I pay for 2 children to attend full time and 1 to attend the after school program -I pay $8.67 an hr...this includes breakfast, lunch, 2 snacks, an amazing curriculum, and loving teachers - I don't know about the other price comments - but my children are worth $8.67 an hour! more

Growing Room disappointment 2/12/2010

I am happy to say my 3 month old daughter will be going to a different daycare next month. \r STRIKE ONE: Her infant room was not prepared to meet her on her first day. Nothing was assigned to her or labeled with her name. A new infant joined a couple of weeks later. A sign was put up to greet her, a crib was assigned to her, among other things that were neglected when my daughter first arrived to the center. \r STRIKE TWO: Even after explicit instructions, my daughter developed diaper rash. Enough said. \r STRIKE THREE: I had to work from home because the center was closed due to a possibility of inclement weather. I was not given any warning ahead of time. No one at the center mentioned anything. I complained and was told to refer to the parent handbook, which I never received, and did not know about, during the registration process. The enrollment/account coordinator did not notice it was not part of my packet and she never brought it up. \r In retrospect, as far as the caregivers and f more

Not happy with this facility 2/26/2006

The program that we were involved in was the free pre k program they offer in Ga. The problem was the staff treated you as if you were a hand out and then it was 60 dollars a month for them to eat. The pre-k program needs work I would say . The point was not to make the kids feel inferior. So send them there if you want a headache the whole year. My child has never hated a facility more. PROS: Free pre k CONS: Free pre k more

No problems so far .. 10/28/2005

I know daycare can never replace taking care of your child yourself. The Growing Room manages the nursery at my work. They took over a few years ago. I did see an improvement in the activities offered and management seems to be better. I do know people who have had many problems but I have been happy so far. The price is good since they only manage the center and my company owns the center. PROS: Price in my case, nice workers CONS: None so far more
