Trees 7/2/2012

We bought two very expensive trees from Green Thumber and had them plant the trees. Of course the guarantee is only for a year. Now we have a tree that is dying because it was planted too deep. We have had experts in to try and save it by cutting the roots but they only gave it a 50% chance. Now we have to take the tree down. I found out that this is happening all over the area and I know that Green Thumber has not had their employees trained on how to properly plant a tree. When I went to them of course they just shrugged it off. So my advice to everyone is do not have any trees planted by Green Thumber. I recommend that you actually go to Davey Trees or a landscaper who can prove they know how to plant a tree correctly. You can even go to the extension office and learn to do it yourself. However, Green Thumber should not even sell trees because they don't know how to plant them properly!!! more

Insensative - Poor Quality 2/3/2011

My Mother and I purchased a wreath for my Fathers funeral. The visitation was on a Sunday afternoon with the mass and burial on Monday morning. Flower arrangement was delivered and in place for the Sunday visitation. Monday morning at the casket closing before the trip to the church, many of the flowers in the arrangement were drooping and had lost their color--they were turning to gray/brown. I noticed this before most of the family arrived and snapped a few quick photos with the cell phone.\r \r Three days after the services I returned to Green Thumbers to show them the pictures. We did not want a refund - I was simply wanting them to know of the results of their work ( i do believe cut flowers should last more than 24 hours). With the amount of money spent, I was hoping they would send a small floral arrangement to the church at no cost. I was told that they "could not tell anything with the small pictures taken by a cell phone". What an insensitive bunch of folks!!!! Do they think I more

WOW!!! 9/11/2009

All I can say is WOW! I called in, got a call from Jeff from The Green Thumber's within a few hours and we set an appointment. After our initial meeting, it was about a week and he called us back to tell us that he had completed the design and estimate. We set an appointment. When we saw the design, his professional presentation and explaination of his design process, we knew he was one of the best. We signed immediately with no problems. When the crews arrived, Jeff was there to make sure the crew and project manager knew what his vision was. Within three hours, Jeff was back again, reviewing the project progress. To our amazement, he thought something looked out of place and made some adjustments to about 5 plants which enhanced his original design (after the fact). Throughout our 5 day project, Jeff was on site every day. The little details that my wife and I would not notice, he noticed and changed immediately. This, in itself is well worth the money to hire the Green Thumbers. more
