Definitely worth checking out 7/2/2010

I was first brought to this cool little lounge by a close friend of mine. I had no idea it was even there and I've walked past it several times. It's really nice inside and I would definitely recommend checking it out at least once. Pros: very nice Cons: Sometimes parking more

View, Happy Hour, Wine, What Else? 10/13/2009

Watched the sun go down while splitting ½ priced bottles of wine with my friends after work last Wednesday. For appetizers we ordered the mussels, mac-and-cheese and the chicken salad. The mussels were spicy and savory, the chicken melted in my mouth and the mac-and-cheese was flavored with chorizo, need I say more? I would recommend this restaurant for drinks with my friends or a romantic night out. Pros: 1/2 off bottles of wine on Wednesdays Cons: Is that a ? more

Look Elsewhere 2/14/2009

I have never written a review but this place made me want to write one after a horrible experience. I went for brunch with a friend and seeing people leaving should have been the indicator for us to do the same since they hadn't been served either. To begin with, this establishment had no record of our reservation but we were seated promptly (I had re-confirmed our reservation the day before). It took about 20 minutes before we got a menu (there were no more than 5 occupied tables at the moment with 2-3 people at each table) and another 20-25 minutes to get our food. I had asked if the waffles were thick and filling and was assured of this. What I should have been told is that it would be an Eggo-like waffle that wasn't thick and instead was bland and cold in some spots. Maybe their toaster wasn't working... My friend's french toast was good but somewhat cold. The butter was cold, my friend had to ask twice for his orange juice and the people at the table next to ours experienced less than great food and a very slow service as well. Although I would recommend the place for the scenary alone, the prices, food and service are not worth it. Look elsewhere! For the first time in a very long time, I found myself questioning if I should even tip. I did tip...in accordance with the bad service and food and it didn't even amount to 10% of my bill. Pros: Great views Cons: Very slow service, bland food more

Great spot to watch the sunset ! 2/2/2009

We went to happy hour here, just after sunset on a weeknight. Spectacular view! The bar was uncrowded, beautifully lit, (matched the sunset!), and service excellent. Good variety of appetizers. When the weather is warm, the patio seating is great. Pros: Atmosphere, service, location more

BLAND food; nice ambience 12/18/2008

Really sweet server, beautiful ambience, BLAND food -- probably made worse bc all the great reviews leave you with really high expectations. The crab cakes and mac n' cheese were good...but that's not the kind of food you go to a well-reviewed restaurant to enjoy.\r I ordered Moroccan pork, and you would expect high flavor considering it's Moroccan, but it was extremely bland. Well cooked and wonderfully melty/tender meat, but otherwise VERY bland. The lemon couscous it came with was not very lemon-y -- again BLAND. How disappointing. \r Others in my party also got crispy-skin salmon (alright; like the pork, after a few bites it isn't that great anymore), jidori chicken salad, a few more things. Nothing had much TASTE. But if you're going for the view/ambience/wine, a really lovely restaurant.\r However, considering we went for the FOOD, it was disappointing.\r Extensive wine list though. Pros: ambience Cons: pricey-ish food that is NOT worth it. more

BEST SLIDERS IN THE CITY 12/12/2008

The view from this place is amazing. You can see the entire bay. Everything I tasted was great! My favorite is the sliders and the mac n cheese. They make awesome crab cakes too. The staff was great, and the place it self it beautifully decorated. Can't wait to go back! more

Best food in San Diego! 12/11/2008

The Glass Door is one of the best restaurants in San Diego! If you find yourself in San Diego don't miss out on a amazing experience at this restaurant. The Glass Door is one of my favorite restaurants! Their food is delicious with fantastic sides! I recommend sitting out on the patio and enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean with one of the delectable drinks from the bar. Don't miss it!! Take my word for it! :) more
