The staff was excellent and the food was the best ever.\r We will return soon - I had asked for a small table near a window and it was a very cozy and intimate room. The wine se...

What a visual delight from the outside with all the luminares -- a bit of Santa Fe right here -- but, somewhat disappointing. Took my husband for his birthday dinner since he had...

mediocre food..great facade 11/14/2002

I was excited to try this restaurant, with such a great exterior, outdoor fire...etc. I was dissapointed by the indoor atmosphere, slow service and mediocre food. After waiting about 45 minutes at the bar, we decided to order appetizers while we waited for a table. Rocky mountain oysters could have been chicken for all we knew, they just tasted fried with no special flavor. Queso was small portion and extremely rubbery, shrimp cocktail was a joke...a small goblet with about 5 shrimp for $14.95? We finished our beers, paid a $60.00 tab and left without dinner. more

low quality at high prices 10/8/2002

I was expecting high quality ""Colorado-style"" faire...boy, we were mistaken! We had reservations on a Wednesday night and still waited 20 minutes! Their service staff was young and unprofessional. The food was the biggest offense of the night. All of the my party's dishes were supposed to be medium rare and every one came out charred to a crisp! It was unfavorful and definitely overcooked. I wrote a letter complaining about the meal and nothing was done. The Fort is the most overrated restaurant in the Denver area Pros: scenic location Cons: overpriced, unprofessional, poor culinary prep more

Simply the Best! 7/23/2002

God, I love the filet. This place has some mind-blowing food. I have to say that everything on the menu, from appetizers to entrees (I'm not a dessert man, but I'd bet their desserts stack up well) has been excellent. I've only been going for a couple of years, but I've never felt let down, even if I walk away from the table significantly lighter in the wallet (Believe me - well worth it!). Do yourself a favor, go to the Fort. Pros: Menu, Service, Ambience more
